Samsung fame internet

I have a sim from Tesco mobile that I have been using in an LG phone and have transferred it to a new samsung fame...I have never had a smart phone before and find that I can only access the internet when at home via my wi fi at home....I used to access web browser and e.mails on my LG when I was out of the house and can not work out what is wrong...I have been through the settings but am not really sure what has to be on or off to get the browser ...Any help would be appreciated...
