Is this a good deal and are sky good internet providers?

I have the same deal .I was moving house and BT wanted £130 to install the phone sky said they would do it for free . I ended up having to get a new phone number .
My phone and broadband have only been connected since Saturday .I did have to phone sky about an email problem and there IT dept is dreadfull .I was on the phone for 53 minutes ,most off that call was the "your call is important to us ,and we are really busy message". So far the broadband has been ok .Also be aware sky block you using other phone providers like 18185 .They do offer free caller display and 1571 if you want it .I didnt want the 1571 ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -

I'm not sure exactly what you've got here but i know a lot of people pay that for line rental alone unless you haggle (they gave me 50% off for 6 months) so i'd say i would doubt anyone can beat it. I thought i got a good deal but it's not even close to that, admittedly, we may be on a slightly different package with different caps/limits.
ps-just re-read and see the price is without a tv package. i.e. entertainment.0 -
Thanks
Is Sky Broadband reliable anyone?0 -
Its as reliable as any other service provider, if you mean do they sort out problems efficiently, then yes then have improved vastly since they started.
As with any other land line based service they are reliant on BT to maintain the physical links. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

I have a domain hosted by 1&1 and had this problem when I was with Virgin BB years ago. It would not send using the smtp settings provided by 1&1, I then used the virgin smtp settings and all was good. Never had problem with BT or O2 just Virgin, I think they blocked the port that 1&1 used for smtp.
Also had issue with my work VPN when on Virgin, again a port issue. Fortunately back then it was easier for work IT to change the port number. All gobbledeegoop to me0 -
Iv been with EE/ orange BB for over a year now paying £17.75 a month. Recently seen the ad for Tesco broadband. Thought I'd move as my partner had a Tesco mobile,so free broadband. Have EE a call to say I'm leaving. They offered me 3 months free each year which makes it £13.32 a month. Bargain!0
