Hi Pablo - I thought I might find you here - in your case you should send the letter that tigzem has posted in post 22 of this thread.
Good luck.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Did anyone know of the consultation paper "Regulation of Enforcement agents" from earlier this year? just found it - http://www.justice.gov.uk/docs/cp0207.pdf
Anyhoo...Just sat here typing an update for 45 minutes, went to preview, and had to sign in again....
then lost the lot!
I'll have to do it all again!
so heres an UPDATE:
Tried to phone the Trading Standards office in Twickenham, but was forwarded to a Consumer Direct lady, who said she would forward my complaint to Trading Standards, and offered me some advice on how to follow up the letters, but I explained that I had already done what she had advised, and she said the only next step is the small claims court.
So I wasn't partcularly impressed!
Have downloaded a completed ICO Data Protection Act Complaint Form, and once I sort out my computer, I will print copies of all correspondence and send it off.
Must ring the OFT, FOS, and My local MP, but can you remind me who CSA refers to?
Still got more to do, I know... but trying to run the house (that includes my teenage daughter!) , sort out my PC thats playing up, worry about My Mum who's poorly, and work from 8 - 5 each day (except today!) fitting it all in is quite a problem. :silenced:0 -

Hi pipk,
Sorry to hear that you did not get the best reception from Trading Standards. I have, in the past, found it better to contact the Trading Standards Office closest to the company that I've been complaining about.
CSA refers to the Credit Services Association, and can be found at:

Hi All
Just to follow up on my Ruthbridge problem, Trading Standards phoned me last week to ask if I had heard anything since they sent the Managing director a letter. Not heard a thing and they haven't either.
So thanks to PipK62 :T I will be following up in the same way she has, when I get a minute be downloading ICO Data Protection Act Complaint Form. I have been very busy my mother is in hospital and it appears to be serious. So a big thank you to Pipk.
Regards

Interestingly, I hadn't heard again from these lovely people since my last post here. Today however I recieved a 'letter' addressed simply to 'The Occupier'
it was very short and wonderfully strange:
Express Delivery
Urgent
Please contact the undersigned
immediately
on telephone number xxxxxxxx
Quoting ref xxxxxxx
all calls will be charged at national rate
It is 'signed' in the exact same font as the others, but by a different person claiming to be operations controller.
Needless to say, I have no intentions of phoning them.
I suspect this is some kind of trick, but they must think a person is exceptionally stupid to fall for it. Anyone had this letter, any thoughts on it? Its pretty clear that these people have no leg to stand on, if they were able to claim money from me they could and would have at least tried by now. Perhaps I should seek legal advice as I am pretty sure what they are doing cannot be within the law?
Snap! just popped home for a few minutes, and found exactly the same letter! (well, not the same letter, but you know what I mean).
Thanks Alpha47, I am thinking I should try Trading Standards again, have since found some 'direct' telephone numbers - hopefully that won't get me transferred to consumer direct.
Do you have the contact number that you used? not a problem if you haven't.
(btw, no offense taken but I am a 'he' ) :silenced:0 -
The number I used was
- OFT telephone enquiries:08457 22 44 99
Good luck

Hi
Just heard from Trading Standards today, they had been phoned by a man from Ruthbridge to say the debt was time expired and they had referred it back to Crapquest.
Just when I was going to send the 12+2+30 letter out
Trading standards have suggested I let sleeping dogs lie and see if Crapquest get in touch.
Its a bit annoying because I was not sure where the debt was from or what it was for, but I think I will do as they have requested.
So Ruthbridge are Ok to send out threatening letters to people with no consequences for themselves, but of course the people they manage to scare pay up. Do you think I should write anyway on a point of principle. Maybe Ruthbridge have had one or two letter from us on this website and are getting worried?

Im well aware of this company - they ll chance their arm at anything !! - take the advice on here and you ll be fine - report them to the OFT as well, the more people do that the quicker this type of company gets closed down
