    Hi Pipk62 and everybody else
The OFT are compiling a file on these people and so any complaint is of interest to them. They are after their license, they asked me for more info on my complaint. It might be worth letting them know as they are trying to get enough evidence together.
    All the best

I thought I had mentioned thast I had replied to OFT, but see that I havent... My bad :o

They asked for my permission to use my information, and I filled out the form giving that permission.

so now I'll have to fill out the form for FOS and contact my MP, so thanks Alpha47 for the heads up, I'll get right on to it... well tomorrow, I need my beauty sleep first (and I really do mean NEED! :rotfl:)

Delighted to here from you and to learn the news. I have set up a thread re Alpha's message on ruthbridge, asking if anyone else has a story to tell.

A little note on there http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=675545&highlight=ruthbridge+RAS would encourage people.

  • I have received a letter concerning a debt from ruthbridge acting on behalf of cabot, stating that they are giving me 10 days to pay or they wil send a door collector round. I have had letters from cabot over the last 2-3 years and bombarded with telephone calls most days. Apparently they bought the debt from barclays but cannot provide evidence of the debt, they just say its a barclay card from jan 2000. It was about 6 years after when they sent their first letter which went on for a couple of months through replying to letters asking for info. It all stopped and then a year later it started again and now threatening with doot collection. Where do I stand? Is there anything they can do? Do I have to pay? How do I stop them Harassing me. Please help!

Juandnick, it will be better to start your own thread for this. More people will reply as this is quite an old thread.

Do you know if this is your debt?
When was the last time you made a payment towards the debt or wrote to them about it?

George is absolutely right, but there is advice throughout this thread that may help you, things havent changed that much.

First thing is DONT PANIC, read through this thread and refer back to it, (there are other related threads too), whenever you need to.

It may also be helpful to you and others if you have a link back to here, but I'll leave that for you to decide.

    Hi pip

    nice to see you.

    juandnick.

Door step collectors have no rights at all and this debt is probably statute barred. Do start a new thread.

In February BBC Watchdog had a story about Ruthbridge.

For visitors here, please start your own thread, in which you can post a link back to here (for reference) if you wish, but also PLEASE COMPLAIN ABOUT THEM, especially to OFT, also to Trading Standards, and your MP.

It may also help to contact Watchdog too, to keep them 'in the frame'

There are a number of threads relating to Ruthbridge, and it upsets me that others are still going through this nightmare.
So do your bit and help kick their !!!.

    Hi RAS, hope u r well :)
