I have just entered my final month on my 1st contract, so it's upgrade time:j

My current deal is with T Mobile;
100 mins, 100 txts, unlimited internet through a booster.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy W
My current cost is £21 a month on an 18 month contract.

The details of the plan are fine for me and all I need but I would like a better phone as this one just hangs and I end up having to turn it off, sometimes twice a day to get it to do anything in less than 10 minutes:mad:

I got this deal through E2Save, who rang me last night and were a bit pushy. They initially offered me a Galaxy Ace but brought the cost down to I think it was £15 with more mins/txts but less internet via a cashback promotion over the length of the contract.

I told them I was looking for either the Galaxy S3 or S4 mini which is out soon.

They offered me the S3 mini with 300 mins, 500 txts and 250mb of internet, which he said was equivalent to about an hours browsing every day. He also said they would give me £90 cashback over the contract of 24 months and it would cost me £21 a month.

I said I wanted to think about it and asked them to call me back tonight at 6pm. He said he would but he couldn't guarantee the cashback would still be on the table. If the cashback isn't there tonight then it will be a "sod off" from me:rotfl:

I have since been on online chat with T mobile and got some options from them.

Galaxy S4 mini free for £27 a month, 500 mins, u/limited txts and internet on a 24 month contract.

Galaxy S4 mini for £119.99, staying on my current plan and still an 18 month contract.

Or a S3 mini free, again staying on my current plan and 18 month contract.

I'm not sure what to go for now, I would take the S3 but I don't want to end up with another phone that keeps hanging and needs turning on and off 5 times a day. The T Mobile guy said that wouldn't happen with the S3 but I'm not convinced. so I thought where better to come but here to get some thoughts from all of you:T

So any help would be appreciated;)

Do you know how much data you currently use?

250mb is pretty rubbish for a smartphone - you could use up that without doing anything, with the apps running in background. They may then charge you an arm and a leg when you go over, so the E2save deal could work out massively more than you are currently paying. Avoid!

I'll leave others to comment on the other options.

I was a bit worried about that myself if I am honest. I don't really download anything, maybe only once or twice a month but I do use the phone for browsing every day.

My biggest issue is the current phone hanging and taking ages to do anything, it's no exaggeration when I say it can take over 2 minutes to close a text message sometimes. Then when I switch it off and then back on everything is fine for a while.

I know the S3 mini has a 1GZ processor where the S4 mini is a dual core 1.7GZ. Hence that is why I am thinking the S4 might be worth the extra either 6 months on the contract or £120 up front and stay at 18 months.

£120 is a decent chunk of money to fork out but I should get about £65 for my old phone by selling it on Ebay to offset against the cost.

Well the call came at 6pm as promised. The result was they said they can match the 24 month deal on the S4 mini but with no cashback but that is all they can do.

He wasn't as pushy tonight, I think because I had other quotes from T mobile that I didn't have last night. I have told him I am going to have a look around to see what else is available to me and take my time over it, rather than jump at the first thing I am offered. I have said he can call me in a couple of weeks time and we can see where I am at.

One thing I didn't ask, was what happens if I don't do anything before 26/07, do things just continue on a monthly basis or will I get switched off or what happens???

The S4's eats through data, and you will really need a minimum of 1gb

Just curious why the S4 eats through data? What's different about it?
