I've got the Wii. It's easy to set up, it's fun.
The remote uses AA batteries fairly quickly, so pick up some rechargeables.
The Wii is NOT a HD console, so it'll look rubbish on an HDTV without the component cables which you can get from Comet etc.

They come with simple instructions and are easy to set up anyway. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. nothing beats my wii, especially with the downloadable snes/nes games and also the online games (first one just out). The wii is so simple to use and set ups fine, my advice though dont use the sticky squares to stick the sensor bar to your tv, my came un stuck last month (lasted 5months) i use white tack now. Oh and also its good to not stick it down if you want to use it in more than one room. And finally imo you need more than one remote0

my wii is now online but I am disappointed that I cannot surf the Net with it. I had been led to believe that this was possible with special wii browsers but I can't figure out how this can be done.0

we got a wii , finally but its an early xmas present for my 2 eldest children , they love it. my eldest son thomas who has autism just loves the billy and mandy grim adventures game..
great little games console , highly recommend it ..
also did you know the good housekeeping magazine highly recommend it as well , because it keeps you active not like other consoles..
try the wii preorder (website) , to keep up with stock levels and who has them in stock but you have to be quick.. they go fast.. actually just checked that website they have loads in stock (various online shops )
see you from kerry..0 -
Brilliant! the kids and I love ours, DH is very anti consoles, but even he will play sports etc with the kids on it.
No difficult to find now, I often see notes on gamesatation/HMV etc that they have Wii instock. Got outs on pre order from gamestation- only waited 2.5 weeks even when the "scarcity value" was high.0 -

You can - I think it's still free at the moment, if you goto the shopping channel you can download an opera based browser. I'm not sure when but at some point they are going to start charging to download the browser.
It's not very good mind you, I use my laptop instead.
As for the OP's question it's a brilliant machine & yes it sure does eat through some batteries especially if your playing multiplayer, I got a load of rechargeables from ebay.

much easier to play than some consoles. none of the "hold one button, press up, add another, touch another..."
you just pick it up and play.
some of the games like boxing can be quite energetic.
son has just put his online to play the new football game with others online. not sure if he uses it to surf though.
check most only come with one handset, so you will need another to play two player games.x x x0 -
To surf the net on the Wii you need to download the Opera browser.
This can be found on the shopping channel, it used to be free but now you have to pay for it.You can't con an honest man!0 -

Blimey, that really is an early Xmas present!!!
I'm planning on getting my children one for Xmas, hopefully there'll be some good bundles out by then. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
