Seeing as this is MSE I'd say try one of the M&S or Next seconds/returns places. Or get on eBay or Preloved. We picked up about £2k worth of M&S sofas for £180... only 6 months old an barely used. You won't get the same choice but you'll save a packet.

DFS, CSL etc are cheap tat designed for people who want to pay on the drip. The finance deal will outlast the sofa in most cases.

We have 2 leather sofas boiught from DFS about 6 years ago. They are excellent, no wear to the leather no cracking or fading and are nice and comfy. Don't believe all you read about DFS I have always found them to be good.

Ours are from Next and still look like new after 3 years (we have a teenager, a 10 year old and 2 cats!)

Its not where you buy, it's knowing how to check the quality of what you are buying.

The problem with the retail warehouse sheds, and same goes for carpet sheds, is they are very good at marketing a 'bargain'. In many cases they are pile it high sell it expensive, but make it appear to be selling cheap, often coupled with finance deals.
