This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Looks like being another good day so the washing is already on the line. I often wonder if our neighbours think I am a mad woman but I think they are all probably fast asleep and don't seem me outside at this time of the morning.
Early morning jobs got me to thinking of when I was a child and most women who lived in my road would be up at the crack of dawn doing household jobs, winter or summer. Laying and lighting the fire, scrubbing the step or heating the boiler for the wash. Did that really happen or is it just one of these "when I was a child, all summers were glorious" type of memories? I think possibly so much has changed because everyone works now and it seems impossible to manage otherwise. Would love to hear other's thoughts.
Ham and cheese salads for lunch and salmon with stir fried beansprouts and cabbage for dinner. I did drink half a glass of red wine last night and even though it is allowed, I still felt guilty so the diet really is in my mindset now.
OK that's enough of a ramble, I need to get moving.
Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

A slow day for me, I don't have anything planned, I don't fancy going shopping with my wife,

Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Cloudy and overcast here this morning. Washing on the line. Plants watered.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was smoked sausage, bacon and mushroom rissotto - clean bowls all round, desserts from the fridge/cupboard. Remembered to get the beef out to defrost so tonight will be beef casserole, pots, and veg.
Work yesterday was busy - made the day whizz by though. Only working until lunchtime today, so will come home and get a quick lunch then DS1 and I have to go to collect his suit for the prom and buy him some shoes - it's this Friday night. Have a few jobs/phone calls to make etc and jobs to do on the pc - so need to get going with all those, fortunately my friend who comes for coffee and a chat isn't coming over today - so I should be ok timewise.
DS2 is making choc chip cookies today at school - they had to pick something they have made before so he's picked cookies - hope he doesn't leave them in the oven/have oven turned up to high like the first time - they were, shall we say, rather well cooked!
Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Been absent for a couple of days as RL got in the way
Tax credit letter has come through - I'm sure we are being overpaid but from previous chats with them I know they take no notice so we'll have to wait till this time next year to see how much we will owe them - stupid system!
Plans for today involve the Lottie and eating silly amounts of strawberries that I bought yesterday :]
Have a good day everyone, hugs sticks and spoons to all who want them

Morning All
Grey and dull here today. I don't have enough washing to make a load so I will get my trusty stool out and do some ironing................ Usually it is a quick fold and away, but I like T-shirts to be ironed and I have about 16 to do . After that I will give the house a lickety spit and then I have to sort out some paperwork.
DSIL is coming to do DD's hair this afternoon and I think that I will ask her to give me a quick trim as well.
Salmon with honey and mustard topping with salad and new potatoes for dinner tonight I found some in the freezer and as I am running the freezer down I thought that I would use it up.
Must get cracking
BFN x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning :hello:
My radishes have bolted *sobs*. I'll plant more seeds and put the tubs in a slighty shadier spot - they will not defeat meThe salad leaves are doing well, I've been munching on them and spinach leaves. And swiss chard. My body is in shock I think - I haven't eaten this much healthy stuff all in one go for a long time, lol. I've got a thing for prawns at the moment, shame I can't grow them :rotfl:
We've been swapping eggs for vermiculite. We have 8kg atm, with more on the way. I've just looked it up, it's priced in litres and I don't know how litres convert to kg but we seem to be getting a good deal - so far, a dozen eggs for that 8kg sackI'm wondering if I should bag it up and sell it, I could charge half the price of the shops and still do well
I'm having a really good sort-out this week. As the weather's been so good I decided to stay in, open all the windows and doors and clean everything. Even the tops of the wardrobes  I've put a big crate in the bedroom, all unwanted but still in good condition things are piling up in there. I'll put them on ebay when I've finished.Bulletproof0 -
Morning everyone
Keep being MIA lately, just don't seem to have enough hours in the day, loads of events going on at school etc.
Anyway today isn't going to be any less busy, off to meet a friend this morning in Bournville, she works for Cadburys. No prizes in guessing what I shall be purchasing :rotfl:
Rest of the day will be spent hoovering and dusting. As usual lawn looks like it needs a blooming good cut, it was done less than a week ago
Used my SC for the first time in ages yesterdaymust get back into the swing of using it again.
Tea tonight will be a makeshift as we have swimming lessons tonight and we don't get in until after 5pm.
No moving date as of yet, things are moving s-l-o-w-l-y
Naff all else to sayhugs and spoons all round xxx
