    Que?

Its such an obvious 'breach' of the DPA that only an employee could defend them 9it was a joke)

Clearly a breach has occured butt hat doesn;t necessarily mean its the end of the world

Aha I get you. My point was merely that it is not for the OP and what the other couple decide to do is irrelevant to the Op

Hi, Today I received an Email

for another person of same initial and surname,

I asked if the email was intended for them to which she replied "maybe that's what's happened " then " prob best not to tell them the error"

    Many thanks in advance

So a email to someone that has the same name as you and no other personal details.
Store DID NOT confirm anything as to who and where. Only you have put 2 & 2 together and had a stab at a answer.

    No data breech......

    Just a basic error.
Looks like someone has picked the wrong person from their database of customers.
Same name, same street. Pretty easy to do.
Never ASSUME anything its makes a

Thomas Cook have told the OP that they don't hold his/her email address on file.

As the other person has a very similar name, then it's possible that the email addresses are similar. The other person may have given a slightly incorrect email address; resulting in the email going to the OP. Or the email address may have been mistyped.

Its not clear that there has been a DPA breach. There may have been. We don't know enough to decide who made the mistake.

The likelyhood of two people having the same email address bar a charachter or two is very very unlikely. There are so many domains and so many naming conventions that your comment is a bit far fetched to be honest. The likelihood is as dalesrider has said is that they picked it form their database, regardless if they say they dont hold details because they do.

There has been a possible breach by sending the details to the wrong person but that is down to the other couple to look into and pursue, we only have the information the OP has provided so dont know exactly what the full content of the email contains.
