Hi, Today I received an Email from Thomas Cook from the store in which I have previously booked holidays. The email was regarding "important information with your booking" a little confused due to not having no current holidays booked I opened email, it turned out it was info on uploading api with a PDF file at bottom which contained full holiday invoice, documents and flight tickets to print off also full hotel details and dates of travel for another person of same initial and surname, so I thought I'd best give store a quick ring. They lady on the phone asked all details and said she would look into the matter and ring me back.
So ten mins later she rang me saying she hasn't a clue how I recieved this email as they don't hold my email address ( obvious lie ) then asked my address when I replied she hesitated a while then re asked my address, then I clicked 3 doors along from me another lady with same initial and surname lives with her husband so I asked if the email was intended for them to which she replied "maybe that's what's happened " then " prob best not to tell them the error"
I am well aware that errors can be made but am just now a bit concerned knowing they hold info on me which could poss be my credit card details somewhere in the system and am now not trusting the competency of them being kept secure.
Please could anyone advise me wether the data protection act has been breeched and also what further steps I should take to report this matter so that hopefully the staff can take a bit more care in future ?
Many thanks in advance

No data breach at all. So just let the folks down the road know if you feel inclined to and let them decide if there has been one and to pursue Thomas Cook for anything0

Someone with the same intial and surname also has a very similar email address to yours? Mistyped a character in the address?

To be fair your post is a bit confusing, you've said 'no data breach at all' then suggested the other person should decide if there was one. Perhaps you meant to say that there had been no breach of the OP's data and therefore there is nothing for her to complain about.0 -
credit cards should not be kept on file anyway even if you are on a mailing list, so wouldnt worry about that aspect0
