Survey Advice please

Options
We have had an offer in principle from Woolwich, they have now asked us which survey we would like.

We had already decided on the Homebuyers Report but the price of their surveys seems high to me, just wondered if anyone had any up to date experience of survey prices.

Valuation is £415, Homebuyers Report £675

It had been 12 years since we last bought a house but this sounds expensive to me!

Thanks for your help.

We have just paid for our Homebuyer's report with Nationwide and it is costing £675.

No, the Homebuyer's report of £675 would include a valuation. The £415 is if you just want a valuation (ie you pay £260 more to turn it into a HB report).

£675 would include the valuation cost.

You could look at purchasing just the valuation and selecting a homebuyers report independently however I doubt you'll get and independent report for £260!

Just had a homebuyers report done through Post Office and it cost us £470 (incl valuation report). Co-Op is less than that. Your cost seems very expensive compared to that

You would have to pay the valuation cost regardless, so maybe have a ring around and see what prices your given.

What's the purchase price or estimated value?

we are in the process of moving and had our survey done through Woolwich. The surveys were done by Esurv (not sure if this is who they use for all their surveys??)

Anyway, we had the Homebuyers survery and it was £545.

Esurv base the price on the price you are paying for the house.

Google them and you can see from their website what their prices are (sorry I can't post a link, apparently I'm not allowed to as a new user!)

    Hope that helps.
