June 1st - the cost of BT Together Option 3 is to be reduced by £2/month (to £7.95/month);
June 1st - the cost of BT Together Option 2 is to be reduced by 50p/month (to £3.45/month)!
This bits been proven right then.
I have to admit the 50p thing for paper free is news to me as well.
Guess that leaves the rest of your post to be proven then heinz. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 20 -
Thanks I did hear that before, but I so far I havent been charged for about a year. My calls are routed via Onetel automatically, can anyone tell me the number I must use to go via BT? Thanksbillsavings wrote: »If you dont place any calls through BT they now charge you for basic 1571 and Bt privacy caller display.
You can avoid the charge,s if you make 2 calls/month via BT. Just put two evening and weekend calls at 5.5p each through BT to avoid it.0 -
Well, the June 1st bits anyway. This bits been proven right then.

Now there's the rumoured proposed increase (to 6p) of the 'call set-up fee' and the rumoured removal of 'free' weekend calls from the BT Together Option 2 (and 3?) packages.
As you still pay your line rental to BT, that means OneTel is your CPS provider - so dialling a 1280 prefix on a call will bypass the CPS and send the call via BT.My calls are routed via Onetel automatically, can anyone tell me the number I must use to go via BT? Thanks
To keep (nearly) free Caller Display and (if you really must use it) 1571, the cheapest way is to use the 1280 prefix on 6 evening or weekend UK 01/02 calls per quarter (6 x 5½p = 33p).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

1280 then the full area code even on a local call.
Heinz, I would assume that the Option 3 package will stay the same as its free daytime. All your source seems to have said is that weekends will be treated the same as weekdays, so split into day and evening slots. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 20 -
I see, so BT Together Option 2 would only give inclusive evening calls seven days a week - but weekend daytime calls would be charged the same as weekday daytime calls!Heinz, I would assume that the Option 3 package will stay the same as its free daytime. I can see a lot of people jumping ship if that comes to fruition - and I'll be helping them!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Now there's the rumoured proposed increase (to 6p) of the 'call set-up fee'
The increase in the connection charge to 6p has been confirmed by BT from the 1 August.
The cost of calls to UK landlines at evenings and weekends will also go from from 5.5p an hour to 4.5p. The cost of daytime calls will change from 3p per minute to 3.25p
There are several other changes as well - to mobile and non-geographic numbers..

Sunil
PS: I don't think that BT will remove weekend calls from Option 2 - thats very unlikely - its the non geographic numbers which are losing the weekend rate0 -
Now that'd be a good move - it'll beat 1899 etc.'s 5p per call. The cost of calls to UK landlines at evenings and weekends will also go from from 5.5p an hour to 4.5p.
