Vodafone Employee Advantage Discount

Hi,
My partner recently signed up to a contract with Vodafone in store and I went in and advised them that my employers have a scheme with them that i get 20% off of phone contracts for myself and up to 5 friends and family.
I took along a wageslip, my employee number and ID badge and the sales rep just looked at my ID and advised the discount would be added to the account.
My partner has noticed after 3 months that they have been taking the full amount of the contract by DD rather than the amount minus the 20% discount.
We contacted them and they advised that we had to apply for the discount within 30 days of taking out the contract to an email address.
We were not advised of this at the time and the sales agent in the store advised us that the discount would be applied from the first bill.
Despite numerous calls and emails we have really just been going back and forth and not getting any further so we fired of a complaint mail to them today stating the issue and that we weren't advised of the procedure, if we had, we would have done it on the day.
We also noted on the mail that we would be contacting the ombudsman if we do not get the discount applied to the remainder of the account and also backdated.
Is there anything else we should be doing, or any other advise that you think would help to get this sorted?
It adds up to us saving £201.40 over the term of the contract.
Does this constitute miss-selling if the rep in store advised us that we were going to get the discount at the time of signing up.
Thanks,
Johnny
