Letting agent refusing to give landlords contact details

Three weeks ago my letting agent wrote to me advising they were withdrawing their management of the property and would forward the landlords contact details to me.
I have yet to receive them, and I have emailed them 5 times with no reply.
I know they monitor the email inbox because I used a different email address to enquire about using their service to let my property, and they replied in 5 minutes.
Is there a legal requirement for letting agents to provide landlord contact details?
Thanks

Yes, but only when they are actually representing the landlord. Have you read your tenancy agreement or check the Land Registry site?
Your landlord should be in contact to let you know the alternative arrangements for paying the rent. You can be quite certain that if you don't pay it when it's next due they will be in touch.0 -
Hi guys,
In answer to your questions.
I have never been given the landlords contact details.
The land registry shows them as living at this address. (i.e. my address is their address)
Basically I am moving out of the place in a couple of weeks as a possession order has been given to the lender.
The landlord never had consent to let the property.
The agents are in breach of contract, as the tenancy specifically states that all relevant permissions/consents have been seen and checked.
So they have basically cancelled their management of the property a few weeks ago, and said that the landords details are in the post (3 weeks ago)
I havent received anything from them, and have emailed them many times with no response.
I wonder what would happen if the place burnt down or something? I wouldnt even have anyone to contact.
I also dont have anyone to send the keys to when I move out.
I just wonder if they are legally required to hand over the details so I can get in touch with the guy/girl!0 -

As possession has been granted to the lender then the lender is now your landlord. It's someone else's fault.0 -
I am not paying rent by the way, I have already cancelled that.
I need the landlords contact details made available to me so I can serve them a letter of claim, either now or in the future.
As well as the one I am issuing to the letting agent.0 -

That is irrelevant to the question really.0

Hi guys,
In answer to your questions.
I have never been given the landlords contact details.
Thanksforclarifying. There is no requirement for this until you request it in writing (not email!) Landlord & Tenant Act 1985

Ah.

Well that explains a lot!. I doubt you'll hear from the LL. You might hear from the bank. When does/did the bank gain formal possession? Did the court give you extra time? Did you ask? (see below)

No. You have nocontract with the agent so they cannot breach it! It is the LL whobreached the contract.

They have washed their hands. The LL probobly owes them £ too.
I havent received anything from them, and have emailed them many times with no response.

See Q above. The bank may nowbe your LL. What was said at court? You did go didn'tyou....?

Repossession(What happens if a landlord's mortgage lender repossesses the property?)
Why do you want to contact the LL? If indeed he is still your LL which seems doubtful?0 -
You will be wasting your time suing the ex-LL for breach of contract.
He has just been repossessed. He's broke. He has no money to pay you even IF you win a court claim for your costs. Assuming you can find him since he's also done a runner.....0 -

They have just sent it to me, after I attached the letter that I was going to post.

I contacted the lender directly (via their solicitor of course) and they allowed me two months noitice in writing from the date of the letter.

My solicitor advises me that the letting agent is responsible for the breach and is liable for costs incurred. Because they did not carry out the required checks to fulfil their side of the contract.
