can a company credit card affect my credit score?

As per title really, been given a company credit card in my name with the name of the company i work for on there as well. The bill will come to my house and i give it to the accounts dept. If they fail to pay on time (which is very possible judging by their ability to pay expenses) can it have a negative affect on me?

Thanks

Probably depends on your terms that you signed.

I have company credit card and it does not. However, there was a bit of hoo-har because and one point it was floated about.

In response to zx81 (good point) mine does not. Although misuse of it is probably the easiest way to get fired.

It isn't misuse of it the OP is worried about, rather their employers apparently lackadaisical accounts team who maybe won't pay the card on time.

OP it shouldn't appear on your credit file if your employer gave it to you but check the terms and / or speak to the lender to find out for sure, there's no way for us to know.

Realise that izools. Just thought it was worth a bit of friendly advice, as in our company apparently harmless (personnel but paid back) use can be viewed in very negative way :)

I have a company credit card in my name, but the statement is delivered directly to our accounts department. I never see it unless there are questions (ie, transactions on there which I've not told them about), so wouldn't know if there are late fees or not. Doubt it though as they wouldn't like paying for the charges.

Used it a few times for personal things when I didn't have my own card, they just deducted the amount from my salary (after tax of course), but I don't think they like doing it, so I only use it as such when I have no other option. Likewise, I've used my personal card for a few business expenses and they just make a faster payment directly to my card to cover them, but they don't like doing it.

Different companies have different policies though, and some can come down on you hard for messing up their cash flow!

If the company name is on the card, YOU should not be getting any bills to your home address. The idea of Corporate Cards is to provide centralised accounting - however, what you do need to check is what responsibilities are dumped on you should they not pay.

Did the application require your credit file to be updated with payment info? If so, I'd hand it straight back.

You don't have a credit score. Why do people keep thinking they have a credit score?

Because the likes of Experian and Equifax are constantly pushing adverts along the likes of "Check your credit scrore with us! Just £14.99! Then we'll tell you whether or not you are likely to be accepted for credit *".

Perhaps because Martin & the MSE team write articles about credit scores?

Martin goes on national tv and talks of credit scoring?

And gets quoted in the national press about credit scores?
For a recent ITV1 Tonight programme, I did a credit makeover on three people to see if it's possible to legally improve their scores within a year. With one, a former bankrupt with an average "very poor" rating, the score was raised to a perfect profile.
