Hi

I recently purchased a Galaxy Note 2 N1705 on ebay and when I try connecting it to my PC the driver does not successfully install and it says "qualcomm cdma technologies msm" driver not found. I've tried looking for this driver but no luck. I run windows 7 64 bit. Can anyone help me with this please.

Many thanks

Sorry i can't help with the driver but if you are trying to connect it to your pc to transfer stuff to and from it from your pc you can dowload an app called airdroid from the android playstore which will allow you to do that. It's done over wifi so you don't need to connect your galaxy note to the pc with a lead. It's really easy to use.

  • A few options i find:

1: Have you restarted your phone? (simplest)
2: Have you gone into device manager, and uninstalled any drivers (phone needs to be attached so they show up in device manager) also un-install kies, then reboot pc and phone then re-install (this has worked the most for people)
3: Try another USB cable (some has had success)
    4: Bit technical:

1)Go to phone key pad press *#7284#
    This will bring up options.
2)Click everything off modem. Then click on qualcomm usb
3)Click on MTP + ADB. Then save and reset.
    4) thank god phone did not blow up
    5) plug in to computer.
    6) wait for drivers to install.
    7) wait some more.
    8) when all is installed. Plug and unplug phone
    9) when you plug it in there should be a usb symbol, click on it then press MTP.
    10) DO DANCE OF JOY.
PLEASE NOTE. if by any case it did not work. Skip # 10 and stop reading.

Thank you soooooo much Brendan. This has been bugging me for 2 days now and nobody has been able to help me. I genuinely don't know how to thank you. :j

I basically followed your instructions, changed modem to PDA for both UART and USB and changed MTP to MTP + ADB, connected my phone and viola it was detected! Could you please tell me what exactly the stuff that I did do to the phone? What is UART and ADB?

You basically told the phone what 'modes' you wanted to use when it was connected to USB
