Nokia N96 locked - need help

hi guys, im not sure whether this is the right thread but I hope you guys can help.
Quite a while ago I had a t mobile contract and had the Nokia n96 as my phone, several upgrades later and after a few moneysavingexpert emails I decided to clear out my old mobiles and try and convert to cash.

The problem is I have forgotten the Lock Code I placed on the phone and have no idea what it is.
Ive tried 12345 and also tried a soft reset by pressing the * 3 and call button but it still doesn't work.

Does anyone have any ideas or is the phone bricked. Want to try and trade it at CEX because I have all the box, labels and accessories!

Try this, I used to use it all the time (but I'm not sure if it works for modern phones, I can remember using it up to the N95, so should still work on your N96), it generates a 10 digit master code to reset the security code.

thanks guys, im not sure the site will work because the lock code comes on as soon as I turn the phone on, I don't get to the main menu.

How do I hard reset? I cant find it on google and because the code comes when I turn the phone on, when I try and connect the phone to my laptop via usb its not recognised. :mad:

You enter your IMEI as found on the lable in the battery compartment into the program.

It will generate a master code that you then enter when the phone asks for the code.

It isn't possible to reset the phone while it is asking for the code, the code is required to actually do the reset.

If the master code doesn't work your only other option is to take it into a phone unlocker to be reset.
