How to get around the £20 Vodafone loan phone charge.
Options
I’m constantly having problems with my Nokia N73 freezing, crashing and re-booting and when I got to my local store, I was absolutely amazed to hear that I would have to pay £20 to loan one of their old, shabby loan phones whilst my faulty phone was sent off for repair. The store manager was totally unhelpful and basically told me to like it or lump it, so I phoned customer services again.
I complained about the charge and the call centre operator told me that due to the large amount of complaints they were having about this tax, they were crediting customer’s bills with the £20 to cover the charge.
It seems like the Vodafone Stores and the Call Centres are working from two different manuals.
I’ve also been told by a friend that you can wangle up to £30 if you complain that you had to travel all the way in to the city centre and back again.
Good luck!
