Tmobile loyalty discount not so loyal

I've had the same phone since October 2007 & have chosen to never upgrade because I like the phone and have never needed any extra services from Tmobile.
When it comes upto contract renewal I have taken the loyalty discount which was worth £9.49 last year and earlier years it's been around the £9 figure.
For some reason the contract renewal went from October to May and I was being called by a contracted company to offer me a new deal last year.
I received a call on Friday from another company saying my information had flashed up on their system that they should be offering me a new deal; I had a couple of call backs the same evening and then heard nothing back. The next day I receive a bill from Tmobile and it's £10 higher than the previous month; I call them up to ask what's this and I was informed that my contract had ended last month on 21st May but we're in June now & I wasn't informed that this would be happening; I did receive a letter informing me of the price rise in May that said my discount would not be affected.
I am being offered a £7 discount even though I've had the same phone since 2007; I am not happy with this new offer as when I first spoke with customer services I was told they would reduced my June bill down by £10 to the cost of the May bill & that I would have the discount applied which I agreed to with the first person, but did not agree with the second person as it's not suitable for what I receive.
I have been advised that I can leave them which I am seriously considering as they say they will not budge on the £7 discount.
Is there anything that I can do? I don't really want to pay extra for getting nothing else, I really want the phone & to keep my number but I'm not happy with having the call centres abroad either which has made problems that have come up in the past take forever to rectify, when it usually only took days to sort.
Any other suggestions for other deals sim-only with other companies too please?

Without the discount, what is your plan cost?I have taken the loyalty discount which was worth £9.49 last year
I presume you mean the discount was worth £9.49 a month, and not £9.49 for the year as you state?====0 -
It is not unknown for firms offering upgrades to mislead.
If you don't want to keep your existing number, see what the discounts are for a new connection - you might be pleasantly surprised.0 -
the discount only last for the term of the contract, you need to call 30 days before the end to strike a new deal. If your not happy vote with your feet, i hear tesco offer good sim only deals. But remember, if your not making t-mobile money, they are not going to take a loss to keep you as a customer. No network will. Good luckIf you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0

Well my latest bill was £16.28, the discount was per month & the discount usually would go from £5 mark but with the increases because of inflation it's over £6 mark plus vat.0
