Nice one. I like it. ;)

You could even add ""we are fully aware that the letter you have forwarded is a standard rejection. that has no bearing on any of the specific appeal points of this case, and we cannot accept it in place of a genuine rejection of our appeal" between stroma's 2 paragraphs.

Both great ideas, Stroma and Guy's Dad, I LOVE quoting the PPCs' words back at them! :T

  • Thanks everyone, I've replied to Topher (it's kinda fun!) but I just wondered how best to complain to DVLA et al. Is an email ok? Presumably I shouldn't disclose all the details of the case, but should I include the reference number Topher gave me? I don't want to mess up now!
    Thanks again,
    Geraldine
  • So, today I got another letter from topher threatening legal action and adding another £40 to the charges for "administration". Must cost a fortune, ignoring requests for poplar codes and sending standard letters!

Just thought i'd up date you, still looking for advice about complaining to dvla etc if anyone has 5 mins, thank you!

Further proof that PPC are running scared of being spanked at PoPLA. They know that they are on a hiding to nothing.

Has any PPC actually been struck off by The BPA for reaching the sanction point limit? What is the limit?

Hilarious that they choose to breach The BPA rules by refusing to accept a standard template appeal, yet use a template themselves to demand money in the first place.

I've asked before, they won't tell you what the sanction limit is (I suspect its a moveable feast depending on how much the ppc contributes to the BPA coffers) nor will they say how many points a ppc has.

........ and how powerful a PPC is.

I suspect they'd jump on poor Trev from a great height, whereas they'd !!!!!foot (wow, this auto-editor is hypersensitive - the !!!!! has just replaced a cuddly little cat :)) around with PE for the same offence.

I think their sanction points scheme is just smoke and mirrors, lip service to creating the impression that somehow they are regulating their sector.

There have been so many BPA CoP contraventions (just look at all the POPLA losses PPCs are suffering because of same) yet the BPA seems to have done nothng!

    Toothless tiger? :)

Prankers has the lowdown in a recent blog post http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/has-bpa-ltd-grown-teeth.html

If a PPCs gains 12 sanction points in a year then they may get a slap across the wrist. From the website of BPA Ltd
If an operator reaches 12 points in any twelve month period, the operator may be referred to BPA Council for disciplinary action which may result in suspension or termination of membership from the AOS and the BPA.
    My emphasis.

    My emphasis.

And have you noticed, they say the BPA points system is modelled on the driving licence points system. Other than to say that your driving licence points endure for 3 years, whereas BPA wipe the PPCs' slate clean after 12 months.

Short of shooting a BPA grandee, I can't see any PPC getting 12 points in a year, and even if they did it would only be a matter of a small few weeks (max) before being expunged.

It's all about money. If you are creaming in thousands of pounds in a Week/Month, are you going to be happy that some association which you feel obliged to subscribe to tells you that you can't take a bean.

    Yeah right! LOL
