I read loads, my bf does not read at all. He sits on the internet and looks at cars instead. I've no idea how he does it for so long, but he has no idea how I can sit and read for so long, he says he's only read 2 books in his life
I could have written that! Except I think my OH has only ever read one book :D... and I'm pretty sure that would have been about cars, or football.0 -
Another bookworm here
always have been. Will grab a book at every opportunity, even if it's just for a few minutes. I rarely watch TV as I'd much rather spend my evening reading. I've had an ereader for about 3 years so at least storage has become a non-issue - which is just as well as I easily go through about 4 or 5 books a week.
Edit: and I absolutely love motorsport too

I am an avid reader - always have been since I was a child. My Oh would love to read as much as I do but he just can't seem to get stuck into a book although I saw him eyeing up (well probably sizing up the smaller ones!!!) my Stephen King books yesterday!!
If I'm reading he will generally watch tv/film/trawl the internet. He doesn't complain about me reading so much luckily (3-5 books a week usually). I also work nights and him days so I read when the housework is done (mostly done..)July Grocery Challenge - £0/£140

Absolutely love reading. Currently working my way through the Riftwar Saga on the Kindle. Usually read in the evening when I go to bed for about an hour and Sunday mornings when I get breakfast in bed.
OH doesn't read though he asked me to get him some Jon Ronson books for our holiday. He usually plays on his mobile, reads Wikipeda (which i suppose is reading) or goes fishing. He doesn't moan about me reading, especially now I have the kindle and have started getting rid of all my old paperbacks.....0 -
I'm another book lover. I always have a book on the go, I read every night in bed before I go to sleep. I have to, I can't settle if I don't have something to read at night.
On holidays I have to have a book too, and if its a beach holiday I usually have about half a dozen.0 -
Both me and my boyfriend love reading

We both have Kindles and a spare room full of bookcases! We're going camping this week and if the weather is grey and rainy I won't really mind - will be nice just to lounge in the tent catching up on my reading!
My boyf is currently re-reading the Wheel Of Time series (Robert Jordan) - might take him a while as there are 14 books! Great series tho...0 -

I think a child's upbringing in regards to reading has an impact on whether or not they read as an adult.tv in the bedroom maybe to blame for a lot of us reading less?
I agree with the above - I wasn't allowed a TV in my room when I was younger (in fact I was 22 before I had one!) and my parents always encouraged me to pick books from the library to read - 10 was the max per week and I would often book that amount out and read them all!
When I have children I will encourage them to read as much as I can.2014 - This is Our Year :j0
