Hi, I wrote on here a few weeks back about a parking ticket I received in an excel car park. Their reason is for not inputting the full reg in the ticket machine ( I only put the numbers as is the case with most car parks). Its my moms car and she appealed it on their website. Well she got a letter today saying its been rejected and we need to pay..
There is a POPLA form at the back and they explain you can appeal through them.
What should we do? Pay? Or ignore these letters? Will we get taken to court if we ignore?
Cheers.

No you use the popla code and appeal independently, don't ignore! And certainly don't pay ! If you think about its a no brainer because if you fail at popla you are still in the same position as now.
You need to have a look at the popla results thread to see what an appeal consists of, look at the https://www.popla.me.uk website also. Another resource is https://www.parkingcowboys.co.uk , so you have time to do some research and put together your appealWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Totally and utterly predictable! Did no one warn you?
We'll get your Mom sorted. Don't worry about court, your POPLA appeal should knock this on the head. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You were advised on that first thread surely(?) that this would happen and that you then have to appeal to POPLA? We can help you to win at POPLA so of course that's not the stage to start ignoring and pass up your chance of getting this cancelled!
Here's a 'POPLA appeal examples' post I prepared recently, read and COPY & PASTE from these:
 https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/61968045#Comment_61968045
and add to that the Watchdog Daily link I think I gave you on your other thread (you really should have posted on that thread, just by clicking your own username here and finding your other posts, it would have been easier for us to remember your case). Are you the person to whom I gave the Watchdog Daily link where an Excel employee stated they 'understand that people might put the car reg in wrong and they have checks to identify this'...?'PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Stroma, the OP has contacted me, happy to help0

 Who are you?
What qualifications do you have that mean private help rather than the (very useful) public help others can provide in this forum?
Apologies if you are known around here, but your name is not familiar to me (I am a lurker around here), so you could just as easily be someone who works for PPCs and "helps" people into paying them. (Otherwise why take things private?). That said, Stroma has thanked your post so perhaps I am being unnecessarily cautious.0

Dave TH can be trusted thank you.

The reason that some "conversations" are done in private is that certain PPCs monitor these forums to try and gather material to use against the motorist. Parking Eye have a dedicated team to do just that, and forum print-outs have appeared in Parking Eye's "evidence packs" submitted to POPLA.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

That's fair enough - thanks for the update.
However, by the same token, I have also seen posts (by some regulars) saying to be wary of people offering to help via PM - as these may be PPCs trying to prevent people from appealing/fighting against tickets. 0 0

That's why we say be wary of people with a very low post count offering to "help" you. Only take advice from people who have been posting here for some time. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
