please help me to set up my new tv and sky box

Options
previously used a small tv connected to sky box with HMD sky cable and scart lead (as set up by sky man) and twin leads to satellite dish, all works fine
Bought a new tv, instructions say easy to set up etc etc..switched all off, unplugged old tv, reconnected new using same leads etc..yet when i go to tune/set up tv for first time i just get a message to say no channels found, please check your antenna connection.

At a loss as to why? an help or advice greatfully received!

You should not be using a SCART connection.
You only need to connect the HDMI lead from the Sky Box to an HDMI port on the TV. Then use the TV remotes input select button to select the HDMI input you used.
Set up tunes in the freeview channels and the set needs an aerial connected to do this, which you can ignore.

I oly connected the scart as it was previously in other tv
my new tv says "no signal " on digital channels and i get msg to say no antenna signal
I am only trying to connect sky, not fussed about freeview although these channels are built into telly
    aah....hair pulling out time!
I know new tv works ok as i can connect in other room to digital aeriel in loft and receive freeview channels

So have you connected the HDMI and selected that input?

Pedants corner, there is no such thing as a digital aerial.

I am only trying to connect sky,

There will be no signal as you are connecting Sky through the satellite, not digital TV through the aerial.

Satellite cables from dish to box, HDMI from Sky box to TV. Change input/source on TV to HDMI and that should be that. No need for tuning etc.

Yes, connecting the SCART cable has complicated matters unnecessarily.
Selecting HDMI input should sort the problem immediately, discarding the SCART should solve the problem permanently.

mije1983 once you told me I wasnt supposed to be trying to tune the channels, made it all clearer!
Enabled HDMI at source on tv..switched TV and sky on and all works fine.
