Who updates credit file after default?

Options
Hi :hello:

I'm in the process of trying to sort my finances out after my recent marriage separation and have just registered on Equifax & Experian to check information etc. I've noticed that a old phone bill was marked as defaulted (from T-mobile) back in Feb this year on 'Equifax' but not showing on Experian - I never received a letter about this default and it has since been paid off as it was only for £60!! The debt was passed to and paid off through CapQuest so i'm a bit unsure who best to contact to challenge this and see if they can update it/remove it - although not sure why it shows on one credit agency and not the other??

Also I have sadly recently got a Default from Capital 1  due to me being out of work (now back working) and my husband not paying the bills (long story but now separated!), Fredricksons are now dealing with it and have agreed a payment plan (all through letter and me paying by S/O!) but just wondering who will update this file now as well - or will it just stay the same until I have cleared the balance and they pass it back to Capital 1?

So annoyed I have these defaults as we had a bad few years back 2007 and my credit file was suppose to be pretty clear this year - that was until my husband gambled money away whilst i was at home with a little one, meaning I'm now back with defaults for another 6 years!!!
...Sorry for that rant, just really annoyed - but anyway if anyone can please advise who best to contact regarding the T-mobile query and who updates files after a default i would be very grateful indeed.

Thank you
