One last question - if an attempt at copying is unsuccessful, does that mean that the blank cd/dvd is ruined, even though it has no files stored on it??0

Possibly. You can try using it again.
Sometimes, it's better to record to the Image Recorder within Nero to retain a copy of the disc to the hard drive and then copy the disc from there.0 -
usually yes, once used, you cant use again.
Seeing as you allready have a cd writer, your writer would have come with basic burning software, which is more than adequate to make a data cd.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
