Hi, I have a dvd with 20 albums on in mp3 format. I would like to make a copy to send to my friend who lives in Australia, but can't seem to do it. The only software I have is itunes, RealPlayer and Windows Media. I have tried downloading Nero 7 trial version today, but when I click on download, I get 'this page cannot be displayed' message. Any help greatly appreciated!

you need a disk copying program nero, alcohol 120% there are loads about but nero works for most people.
does your friend in australia own the music you are sending? remember making coppies for your own use is slightly legal but a copy for someone else isnt anywhere near legal.0 -

Although it's likely the law will be changed, it is actually still illegal to make copies for your own use as well without specific permission from the copyright owners. Even ripping cds to mp3 is still illegal under current UK law (copyright act 1988). The only exception is to make a personal backup of a software application (as long as it isn't circumventing copy protection mechanisms)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Like is said it it illegal to make any backup of music for personal use. But nothing will be done to stop you from doing so. The industry turns a blind eye to copying for personel use, ie 1 backup, or ripped to mp3.
If your package was to opened by customs, then that could be trouble for you.
Does your friend not have internet access, broadband.
Not saying this should be done, but there file hosting sights.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

Has your PC got a DVD writer fitted?Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
Don't use Burn4Free, not only is it crap but it's bundled with the NavHelper spyware.
If you're only going to burn one DVD, and that is assuming that you have a DVD burner as bat999 pointed out, get something like CloneDVD as a trial version.
And as Superscaper pointed out, it's illegal. If you do it anyway, I;d suggest you do not to write a return address!0 -
Thank you all for your replies. I think I was being rather naive there, didn't think of the legalities! I will forget the idea of sending music to Australia. From what you are saying, is it (just about) ok to make spare copies of a disc for personal use to stop original getting trashed by kids etc? In the meantime, I have downloaded trial of alcohol 120% but the first disc I tried to copy resulted in computer crashing, so maybe this copying stuff isn't for me!0

Copying to make a backup for yourself, while illegal is still considered ok by the BPI and they have no interest in prosecuting people who do. They have also petitioned along with the IPPR the Government to add an exemption clause to the law allowing cd ripping to be made legal. Of course if the copyright holder gives permission to make backups then it doesn't matter about the law. But copying for other people whether you're making money or not is piracy."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

For copying CDs and DVDs(for the purposes of making 'back ups' for your own use) is like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
Download Nero 6 from here ; http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/nero-up.php or from here; http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=nero
I'll send you the serial for the 15 day trial by PM. If you like it, you can purchase it. If not, you can uninstall it.0 -
Why all this hassle. You said you have iTunes. All you would need to do is put a blank CD in your drive, select the tracks on iTunes and click burn and that is really it.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0
