I'd agree that that doesn't sound like a Abbey/Santander share - more like a savings account.
My guess (and only a guess) is that it may have been bought to qualify and register for (?extra?) shares in the Abbey demutualisation. If that option was never taken up (which would have resulted in a 'proper' share being issued) then it might have lost all value at that time0 -
Yes this was a few months before demutualization. Not sure where you stand to be honest. I think you should've been entitled to Abbey National shares when that occurred, but I wouldn't know where to start.
If you did get the allocation of shares it would be worth quite a bit more than the EUR4.68 I quoted“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0
