*phew* the reception has FINALLY gotten back with a formal invoice for me :-D and for the price that I THOUGHT was just the basic venue hire, they're throwing in the champagne reception and the table decorations too! Ace :-D I also like the fact the contract has the words 'we like you, you're a crazy couple'
Phew, that's a weight off my mind. Spent way too much of my spare time at the weekend designing invites!Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0 -
OH and I also tried the dress on at the weekend, that is, I'd made a muslin and tried that on - although I had to pin myself into it! But it looks RIGHT and that's the important thing :-DOfficially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0

I'm a September Bride too
3rd September for me. Got engaged in November and decided we'd have a small family-only wedding (max 25 guests) in a private venue we could all stay at for a week. We'd have considered going abroad but then we'd have had to leave our dog behind, so we're having it in Cornwall. So far we have:
Booked venue
Booked caterer for wedding breakfast
Booked caterer for evening (crepes!)
Booked photographer
Booked hair & make-up artists
Ordered wedding dress (did this on Saturday, so excited!)
Almost certain on bridesmaid dress (only one bridesmaid)
Sent invitations & had most RSVPs
I really think I should take out insurance just in case; can I get a policy that covers things I've already booked?
I've got loads of ideas for how I want to decorate things; having originally thought I didn't care about the detail things like colour schemes, table decorations etc I now want them all!
Next on my list to sort out are:
Cake - have emailed a few and prices vary hugely, so just got to decide who to use
Groom & FOB suits
Florist
Ring(s) - OH not sure if he wants one yet
My shoes & accessories
Get my dad & OH's dad to discuss & decide on wines & champagne
I'm struggling to concentrate on anything at the moment without getting sidetracked into thinking about wedding things - like now; meant to be working but somehow ended up on MSE wedding forum!0 -
Hmm, idk about wedding insurance - most of the ones I looked at only applied to stuff you paid for after you bought the insurance - although if you put a deposit down already but have not paid the full amount it's probably worth doing, I got ours through E&L and only paid about £18 for it.Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0

Just ordered the rings off Etsy
£35 for the pair, custom made to our specifications (from a british seller too!) in sterling silver - will let you all know how they are when they arrive because the seller has been super helpful!
Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0 -
And I've just received a message saying they've been dispatched and with a picture of them attached :-D SO EXCITEDOfficially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0

Invitations ordered today, bouncy castle booked, rings arrived (and loved!). Am currently £280 under what I budgeted (for what I've already spent). Tomorrow we are taking my mother and his mother to see our reception venue... eek!Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0
