    I think that he was fobbing you off. Did you read the reviews on the Ebuyer site?
    Due to a firmware bug under ADSL/Internet Settings, make sure 'Connect Type' is set to 'Always Connected', otherwise if your using a wireless only setup (ie nothing connected via ethernet), the router will not re-establish the connection after an idle timeout.

    I can't see any reason why that router would be unsuitable for use here. What browser are you using? Some makes of router are fussy about the browser used when accessing the set-up screens.

    yes i read the reviews thats partly why i bought it. i did turn off the firewall also. Yes cledor that is my modem. well I am going home now so I wont be around on here again till monday. the modem is going back to ebuyer on monday. thanks for your replies folks.

    I would guess that the problem is more likely to be with your computer set-up than the router.

    Hi I Am Back At Work Again. I Am Keeping The Modem Now As I Have Been Advised By Our Friend Who Is A Wizz On The Pc That Talktalk Were Indeed Fobbing Me Off As They Want Me To Buy A Newer More Expensive One Off Them. He Has Read This Thread And All The Reviews And Is Confident That He Can Get It Up And Running For Us. I Will Keep You Informed Of Our Progress. Thanks For All Your Help.

    I am using one of these Talk Talk Modem Routers now, I found it a doddle to sort, I just plugged it all together, entered my ISP details and User ID, and that was it.

    It is actually a re - badged Philips.
