I was in the same situation...
They sent me a form and tracked me down, i didn't have any account numbers but i filled in the form anyway and they found the loan agreement numbers and offered me a settlement. My advice is just fill in the form as best as possible.
As regards to the Egg CC i had one of them too but i am told i have to claim this with BarclayCard who took over Egg.
I didnt have any details for my Egg credit card, but as i am still using it with BarclayCard i called them...the lovely adviser on the other end told me i had had PPI he even gave me the dates of when it started and when it was cancelled :T
So i filled in my form and sent it off...and have had an offer from Barclaycard :j0 -
They sent me a letter back saying that because I said I didn't currently have at that time any other PPI in place they believe that even if they had sold it right it wouldn't change my decision and have closed the case. Any one else had this?0

I too received a claim form from them. Couldn't remember if I'd even had PPI so just filled it out and sent it back. Got a letter yesterday saying a cheque for over £3000 would be with me in 20 days or so! Going to investigate all my other old loans/credit cards now. Got to be worth a try!0

I received my cheque yesterday and I have now received another claim form from them, which must be for my other loan I had with them.
I had a credit card with them as well, so I guess I might end up getting a form for that as well.
Success again, :j
Got my letter to say they are refunding, just under £1800 this time. :j
As I said before, I didn't try to reclaim PPI myself for either loan, just got sent the forms by them.
I'll update again, if I get a claim form for the credit card, although I'm not sure I had PPI on that.0 -
Just bumping this thread again.
Got my cheque very quickly
Now to say Barclaycard, have now contacted me, with regards to my PPI on my credit card, so I did have it on that as well.
Hopefully 3rd time lucky as well, I will let people know, either way.
Have a Natwest one underway for 3 loans as well and also CPP.0 -
I finally got around to posting my form last month.
Surprised by how simple it was, especially as it was a loan started before the market was fully regulated (pre 2005?).
Decision within about three weeks, canada square upheld the complaint.
Looking forward to getting the cheque!
Found this site and forums to be very useful!PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0 -
I received one of these letters last year, filled in the form and sent it back. They replied saying that I had been missold and they'd enclosed a cheque. It was for a few pounds, I can't remember the exact amount but it was less than £5!
I never accepted their offer and to be honest didn't do anything else with it (although I still have the letter). Surely if I was missold PPI, I would be entitled to more than this, or nothing at all?
I had 2 Egg credit cards so it was related to them, and they were both heavily used at the time, with a few thousand between them.
Anyone know if such a small offer of compensation is common?
Thanks,

You are only ever refunded PPI that you actually paid. Two scenarios might account for your redress offer being so small. In the first, you nearly always paid off your credit card bills in full each month meaning that you paid very little PPI in the first place. In the second, the Bank no longer holds records of your account details and has only offered to pay for the period when they do. Surely your offer letter would have referred to the reason in some way?
Regardless, if you've left it since last year and done nothing about it then you've lost the right to refer your complaint to the financial ombudsman.0
