Debt recovery letter from Smart Parking Ltd

I got a ticket from an Asda store which I ignored on the advice received on this website and have now had a letter from a debt recovery company asking for £120!!

What should I do now? The letter is scary but I think that's the point. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

You are unique nobody on here has had anything like this before! In reality if you read this sub forum you'd see 100s of thousands of posts similar to yours. The advice is to ignore debt collectors in this situation.

Is this smart parking as they infest asda car parks?

Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

  • Asda (of course) just give the blanket "there's nothing we can do" line. I'll never shop there again.

    Thanks for your response :)

Yes they can, go to the store and demand they cancel this, if they give the not our car park lie, tell them that you've checked the land registry and it belongs to a subsidiary of Walmart that owns ASDA. Only speak to the store manager not the CS staff.

If that fails go to their head office with the complaint. And their Facebook page, if you look at Aldi's Facebook page they are having a public relations catastrophe because of parking eye taking their clients to court. Nothing wrong with you posting the same on asda's page.

Posts everywhere about DRP and Zenith letters, cluttering up this forum and pepipoo to the extent that I for one am bored of typing the same reply. However bear with me because the pepipoo link is useful.

All you had to do was Google them. But do read the pepipoo last link, to just a snapshot of threads all asking the same question (I post as SchoolRunMum on pepipoo and you'll see I gave that poster a load of links in seconds, as the question is asked so often by people who don't know how or don't bother to search a forum). It's only a matter of ignoring junk mail from DRP and 'Zenith' (also the same DRP call centre).

The only time to respond is if you get a Letter Before Action and if Parking Eye decide to try a small claim. Right now DO NOT respond.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
