Hello there,
new laptop has arrived & I have added the following security:
Malewarebytes Paid for version
Avira Free Version
Online Armor Free Version
CCleaner to run every week or so
Superantispywear to run every week or so
This laptop has come with Norton installed as I had a warning message come up saying the security I installed was affecting the Norton & the unistall/change option came up & I uninstalled norton, but there was another Norton item listed.
On Windows 8 how do I get the uninstall/change option box up?
Thank You xxx

From the desktop, mouse to bottom left, right click and select control panel. Then find uninstall programme.
Or from the Start Screen, start typing control panel, and its icon will appear as if by magic on this dogs breakfast of an operating system. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Brilliant
Thank You so very much it's gone now

To remove the last traces of Norton, you may like to run the Norton removal programme as belt and braces.

All the security products overlap to some extent, avira/malwarebytes resident/superantispyware. OA isn't needed.
All personal preference, my preference for a new machine is
uninstall all the bloat that came with it, including antivirus, install avast free, malwarebytes free, windows firewall, ccleaner, search everything, create recovery dvd's, create macrium reflect free full disk image (not clone) to external hard disk, create macrium boot cd, copy important data to c: drive, and repeat macrium backup to a new img file on external disk every so often and burn an extra copy of important data to dvd every so often. Be careful to avoid installing toolbars, extra browsers, spyware and bloat with free software.
After that, any future software, or hard disk problem is recoverable in less than an hour.!!
