Car Insurance, help

I'm due to renew my car insurance and was browsing around. I thought it would be a good idea to post here and see if there are any deals discounts that I can take advantage of.
Here's the situation

I am a second driver with my dad as the first driver.
The current insurance is pretty cheap: around £600 with my dad as 1st driver and my mom and myself as 2nd-3rd drivers.

However I want to be a first driver so I can gain some no claim bonus and found something at the price of £1100, which I believe is ok.

In addition my sister just passed her driving license and we want to add her too. Insurance with her are sky high but surprisingly if I add her in my current insurance the price is only £800. Sadly here my dad will be the first driver and I can't get ncb so I was wondering if there's any alternative?

I've tried comparison websites,some indipended like aviva,admiral,churchill.

Any deals going on at the moment (i heard churchill has a £50 cashback) where I can take the advantage of being the 1st driver and have my sister in the policy too without paying exorbitant prices?

Thank you

When you say ;first driver' I presume you mean 'Policy Holder' So you are not renewing your car insurance, your father is....

There is a big difference between being policy holder and main driver. It sounds as if father is insuring a car that belings to you ????

It sounds as if your father is the policy holder on a car that you own, or am I wrong.

And do you mean that you want to take a policy out in your name and add your sister onto your policy.

After you have had your quote online I would strongly suggest that you actually speak to the insurer on the phone to double check all the details, it is important that something is not overlooked which could invalidate a future claim.

yes he is the policy holder and I am the second driver.
Now I want to be the policy holder of the car and have my sister as a second driver.
No, I don't own the car but I use it sometime.

Yes I will have a look at the current insurance and see why is it so cheap by adding my sister as the price difference between my current insurance and others that I've checked is huge; I asked them and confirmed it and the details provided seemed correct but I'll check it again.

However my question was about whether there's any good insurance deal out there at the moment

Have a look at Top Cash Back or Quidco.

Does you father have another vehicle? From your post it sounds like this vehicle is mainly used by you, which must be disclosed to insurers regardless of whose name te insurance is in. As DACuch sas google fronting and sort things out properly before your ather is accused of insurance fraud!

You can't just decide who to put as policyholder and who as main driver.

The policyholder is almost always the owner of the car and the main driver is, well, the main driver.

You started off by saying 'my insurance'. I assume this is your car and, if so, you need to get the insurance sorted properly even if there seems to be a cheaper way to do it.

I don't really see what the problem's here. The main reason why I started this topic was to get some advice about other possible insurances that might be competent when it comes to insure young drivers. Whether my current insurance is properly sorted or not shouldn't really part of the discussion in my opinion.
Having said that, I'll try to clarify some points that are being raised again so that people that want to help are not steered away from the main purpose of the topic.
The car is of my dad,he owns the car, he is the policy holder and I'm the second driver.
If I decide to become the first driver, I'll be becoming the owner of the car or I'll let the insurance know that I'm the policy holder and my dad is the owner of the car if the option is available. Right now there's nothing that needs to be sorted out and when I stated "my insurance" that is because I am part of the insurance as well and I didn't know that being a second driver doesn't allow me to call it "my insurance"

    Thanks

Yes my dad has another vehicle, he uses that one with family and this one most of the other times as is a small car and cheap to go around with.
Nope I am not the main driver, I use the car but it is mainly used by him. I use it mostly during the weekends when the car is free.

So your dads the main driver of 2 vehicles? The insurance will need some serious convincing that he really does and your not the main driver really.

How many years did he own 2 cars before adding you?

convincing? I hardly believe that we have to convince my insurance for anything, im ready to take them to court if they use that as an excuse to not pay any unfortunate future accident.

I can ask them the same thing, how do they define that I'm the main driver, what are the grounds they are using to claim that I'm the main driver when I'm actually not.
