Morning :-)
Thanks ladies x
Still feeling a little dizzy in OF land. If it carries on over the weekend I will see a doctor I think. It isn't quite as bad as it was so fingers crossed it goes away!
Had an Xmas spends kind of week. However this helps in the long run so all is good. I have spent £120 in the last few days but will be getting £40 back as they are presents for my girls that other people are buying off me. The other 80 covers some stocking bits, my niece, nephew and nieces birthday gifts. I need to move £20 from my present account to cover the birthday present which helps a bit.
Really need to sit down with my budget and see what I can do with next. I haven't had the time this week.
If I can keep food costs right down I may be able to pay off a nice chunk!
Work has been a little stressful though only coz there is so much to do! I will get there in the end!
The government are doing great schemes to help first time buyers at the moment and it is demotivating that it is a little to early for us- I hope we don't miss the boat. :-(
DD1 is off to London with girls guides on Saturday and I am a little more uneasy about it than I thought I would be. I don't feel comfortable in London (being a country bumpkin) so the ideal of her being there without me is a little unnerving
I am making hubby a 3 course meal that day to keep my mind off it. Just need to finalise what I am cooking!

Hi OF, Good to hear you are getting a head start on Christmas! I've been getting bits and pieces so its not such a huge outgoing all at the same time, so hopefully it helps. I am aiming to be done by 1st December so I don't have to have the mad rush around at the last minute, and so that I don't have to desperately wait for my December pay - and then spend it all on presents!
How did DD get on in London with the guides? I'm sure it was a massive adventure for her, but I can understand your nerves too - I get like that when the kids go out with Grandparents, I'm extremely paranoid!
How did the meal turn out for your hubby? Hope it was delicious!

Morning all,
Hi Brizzle and Mrs S- I hope you are well.
DD1 had a great day in London for the big gig! She got to see Connor Maynard and Little Mix so she was happy :-)
The meal for hubby went really well thanks. Though my choux bun icing was a bit thin to go on top so it had to be a dipping sauce!
Not much going on here. Just waiting for payday to finally find out how much I can pay towards Next. It is looking at about the £200 mark which is less than I hoped but I haven't sold anything like I planned.
This means though that I have still overpaid £500 this month and hubby has paid the £450 to get rid of his holiday cc. So overpayments of £950 from the OF household isn't bad. Plus we bought some Xmas presents!
Next month is a bit of a right off as I am going to try and buy as many pressies as poss which will be all our spare money I expect. I don't want December to be stretched at all and I want nothing to go on cards.
Trying to be MSE at the mo. I really want to sell some stuff. Perhaps I should make that my aim this weekend! We are eating quite cheaply and not being too extravagant.
I am thinking about maybe giving myself an allowance each month. This could be £200 spending money which leaves me £500 to overpay. This might not be viable until Jan so it could be a new year plan.
All okay here....waiting for pay day. Hubby gets paid tomorrow and I get paid next Thursday. I would like us to go out for a meal as we haven't done this for a while.
I have a short day at work today which is nice. Then tomorrow I only work 8 till 1. Then I have Monday off which will be nicehalf term next week and I have just sorted all my childcare without needing to pay for any which is great!

Morning MSE land
I hope everyone is well. I had a lovely day off yesterday. I met my best friend and we went swimming and then had fish and chips for tea. We had a good old natter and the kids had fun. Cost me £20 in total but that isn't too bad for a great day in the hols.
I am working an 11 hour day today so I am looking forward to snuggling on the sofa when I get home. My Mum is taking the kids out to an adventure park so they will have a good day.
I am now not checking my money situation until Thursday. I'm not going to look at all. I have worker out what needs to 'go back' in to October money from this paycheque so I can then make an end of month overpayment to next.
I need to sit down and have a Christmas chat with hubby. He never helps with money for Christmas presents and I am keen for this year to be different. He buys his sons presents each year and that is usually it. I was lucky to get him to pay for his mum and dads last year! We but for 45 people and I am sure he thinks magic Xmas fairies bring me the presents! When I was part time and needed to put some on cc he would have a go at me!! But if he actually helped out at all I wouldn't need to!
The example:
We were at the garden centre on Sunday where we buy his Nan a £20 hamper each year. So I told him we might as well get it now so it is done. His response 'but I thought you had no money left?' 'Um no but you have been paid' 'oh but I wasn't worried about getting it now!' This would have been bad even if this was for my Nan and not his own. He will happily leave everything until near Xmas coz he doesn't have to worry about thinking up ideas and going out to get all the presents. I just want a bit of support :-(
Sorry that's me finished moaning. I will get to work now!
Have a great day everyone!

How annoying. Agree you need to chat to him, that's just not fair!

You definitely need to have a talk with your OH. I am in charge of the presents in this house too but if I need OH to contribute in anyway I tell him!! Christmas can be stressful enough without doing alone!
Hope you relax when you get home. 11 hours is a very long day. Let's hope the kids are knackered when they get home tooTotal Debt at LBM - £19107.03Total now - £11091.220 -
Hi all,
I will have a proper chat with hubby. We are getting both girls a memory foam mattress as part of their present so I will get him to buy one and me buy one. That takes the pressure off a bit.
I have just sat down and gone through my October money and made all payments I can for November. I had £190 left at the end of Oct so only £10 under the £200 I hoped for. That meant a £940 overpayment for our household in October.
Now the attention goes to Xmas and getting up to speed. I have xmas shopping next Friday with my Mum, Nan and Aunt. Will get my cousins presents then and anything that my Mum sees that she might want.
Food shopping tomorrow. We will pop to the butcher and get some meat and then to our farmer for veg and everything else from Mr T. I have a £6 of a £40 spend to use. But annoyingly more of the offers I want are in Mr S!!! We may go to both!
I have made one £100 overpayment to my holiday c/c but that will be it this month. I have bits to list for sale and I will use that money towards Next. Hubby has £90 to pay towards the Next balance so ill get him to sort that. All my normal money will now be for presents.
I have just claimed £13 am@zon voucher from topc@shb@ck which can be used for one of my cousins presents or there are som stocking bits I like for the kids. I have another £18 to become payable so hopefully that won't take too long and then that will be cash for another present.
Right it is really late and I promised myself an early night! Nearly 1am doesn't count!!
