You don't even need the DDs for the 5%, this is for the cashback
But people go nuts for 3% offers

best to set up a few more charity direct debits - keep 2 that claim the 1p quickly and cancel the rest
24p per year with 1p charity D/Ds versus £24 per year with savings accounts (as they require £1 min) = no brainerHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Hope this was your attempt at humour.
If not, then I agree, it's completely brainless folk only who would wish to deprive a charity for their own benefit.0 -

I don't agree that it would only be of appeal to" brainless folk only who would wish to deprive a charity for their own benefit" as it would appear to be well thought out and therefore not "brainless"Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Disgusting, and a sign of extreme lack of intelligence and conscience, to even contemplate depriving a charity for personal gain.
As I said before, I do hope that charities will just not bother with collecting the 1p DDs, thereby scuppering the plans of the evil "donors".
BTW, your "logic" has a flaw. 24p into a charity is a 24p loss, whilst £24 into one of your own savings accounts will actually make you a penny or two.0 -

how about removing the "personal gain" element eg someone using a Christian charity for the D/D and donating the profit to a Muslim charity - is this still "disgusting"?
This does not appear to demonstrate "extreme lack of intelligence"BTW, your "logic" has a flaw. 24p into a charity is a 24p loss, whilst £24 into one of your own savings accounts will actually make you a penny or two.
24p to charity means I only need to keep 24p(£1 to be on the safe side) in the donor account , £1 PM savings account D/D's require £24 to cover the year - so less risk of overdrawing with 24p per yearHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. You are completely missing the point which is that it will cost the charity a massive multiple of 1p to process your "donation".
Therefore you are costing the charity money, just so that you can make a fiver or whatever a month. That amounts to depriving a charity for your own personal gain. I maintain that this is disgusting and not very intelligent0 -

But still a chance, and you may lose your reward as the charity may look over its DDs and drop any donations below what it costs them to process it, or it may decide not to actually process the donation. Just because it processed it on-line doesn't mean the DD will actually be setup.
I'd like to see you ringing up the charity and stating that they have caused you to lose £5 or whatever due to them not processing your DD.
You need to check the account regularly anyway for fraud reasons, so you'll always make sure that the account has appropriate funding for any setup DDs.
Therefore, using a charity for 1p donations is both disgusting and brainless.0
