I get what she's saying. Default has gone and settled.

However the DCA has marked her file with a linked address. This linked address, is what is causing her to be declined. Or so she believes as it's linking her to a DCA, so bad credit.

Which would suggest they *can* see who provided the data, if that is the reason for decline.

So many assumptions and misinformation in there I don't know where to start!

No, the lender can't see who put the link down
No, a link created by a DCA wouldn't cause a decline in and of itself

The OP is being declined either because

    a) they don't fit the criteria of the lender for reasons besides the address link, or

    b) there is adverse credit account data at the linked address

Thanks all. Yes tinkerbell and happy_bunny you are correct. The default is no longer on my file. Its old and gone, however the DCA, in this case CL finance , have registered the address link when I settled it in 2011. I can see who has linked it so therefore the lenders should also be able to see it? There is no other reason for a decline. And the bank have quoted the address link as the reason for the decline. How can tbis !!!!ibly be fair? If I'd just left it to fall off instead of settling it there would be no trace of them on my file at all! Surely this cant be right. especially as I no longer lived at the address when they confirmed it?

oh my goodness. ....of course !!! when I submitted my application details the broker asked for copies of my credit file....so I printed them off and submitted. I guess I should not have done it this way....if searches by lenders do not show who has attached a link at a previous address then I gave them too much detail by printing my copy??? is this right?
