FPK - ((Hugs)) take it in small baby steps :)

Fuddle DD7 had school today and I was really unorganised even though I had planned and prepped - we got there on time and there were loads of parking spaces where its usually manic, so I assume everyone had the same issue today these things happen. As for PE kits, I always forget on first day, but I work on the theory that as long as I get it in within the first week I am winning :)

Aw fuddle this rain is getting us all down and wellies have become our footwear of choice. But just think, the lighter nights are coming and you will be able to get out and explore with your family and find all the lovely things your new part of the world has to offer. Your new job will be tiring you as well so you MuST make some 'me time' and enjoy it, DO NoT FEL GUILTY about taking it as you need to be OK and functioning as well as you can before you can support your little family. It's not instinctive with most of us wives and Mums I'm afraid but I've discovered the hard way that being nice to myself is a daily necessity not a nice to have occasionally. So sit down with a cup of tea when you can and just 'be' or crochet or whatever you really enjoy :)

Hi all, just got home after a very early start. We had to be at the spa at 930am, and it was an hours drive away. It was so relaxing, and I enjoyed spending some time with my girls. We had a facial with a head massage and a cooling foot and leg massage. I feel truly spoilt and blessed. They gave us a list of items they used, one of the creams is £54 a jar!!! I didn't buy any of course.

I was then treated to a bar snack, a healthy sandwich after we had left the spa.

I have a sun holiday priority booking form, and I don't think we will need it. if any of you can use it please pm me. I wont be listing it on the sun code list tho. Would rather it went to someone who will appreciate it.

Have done the first load of laundry, now to decide what to do for tea.

    take care all x

MRS CHIP & LYN........I dont have a woodburner (thats through choice) but have a open fire, I dont clean my ashes out very often , about every 9 days............
I only burn my fire around tea time til about 9 when I go to bed.........Ive had woodburners in the past and find they love too many logs, infact I was forever throwing logs on , but with the open fire I light it with 2 or 3 large lumps of house coal then use probaly about 2 or 3 logs and that much fuel will last about 4 ish hours which is a very cheap form of heating..........

Obviously I do have GCH and its timed to come on at 6 am , and I turn it off when its warm enough or whatever , but always have the fire of a evening.................I did get 2 trailer loads of seasoned wood which I carted myself , so free wood helps alot..............................

Been to diabetic hospital today , got on ok, but ive now got to have 4 injections a day instead of 3 , if that will keep me stabilised then so be it.......
Ive got hospital again tomorrow , this time its a water works appointment:eek:........Trouble of it is the dam hospital is a 56 mile round trip, and the parking is crap ..............
I havent read the last 3 pages due to being too busy and I will try to catch up tomorrow night ..........

Had a message on my answerphone to say our case worker rang today , couldnt get back to her cos I got home too late , so I will try to contact her when I get back from hospital in the afternoon.........

I hope you are all safe and well and the weather is not causing you all too many problems..................Sheila

Pleased to hear the diabetes is stabilising Sheila.

Another limescale question if I may? Lime scale on stainless steel sinks? How to get rid?

Just worked 2 hours this evening so relaxing with the candles. I really could do with a good book. Think ill go look at the free kindle downloads - only thing is if they're free they're not likely to be an excellent read are they really?

Fuddle - you will get some of the greatest books ever written free on Kindle, but for anything modern, you do take your chance, but then it's free, so if it's rubbish who cares? :D

Jem I buy a 4 litre container of Lenor from Poundsavers, I pour half of the new container into the empty container and top both up with water. 10 litres for the price of 5. It still smells great. I do not use softener when I do the laundry but OH does if he is doing the wash, so it lasts a very long time. I think the last one cost about £5.

Good luck with the education meeting.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.
  • Morning all,

Jem, what a morning and a sleep! You must have needed it. I've also read of people putting a few scented drops on the rug of the entryway of a room or house, each time it is stepped on it pushes about of scent about. My OH is 30 and still spends ages on his hair, I reckon boys can be as vain as girls at times.;)

Sheila, look after yourself. Hopefully once things are more stable for your OH you will be more stable anyway.

NuttyP, that day sounds lush! I'm sure your girls will treasure the memories as well.

Fuddle, I've no idea about limescale, but on the wanting to explore the local area perhaps you and the girls could make up a bucket list of things to do over the summer hols? I.e. visit three new parks with picnics, go for walks or whatever. It always seems I have plenty of ideas when the weather is bad but when I have a free sunny day I'm out of ideas.

I've been to the GP about some headaches I've been having and she's decided its a side effect of my medication and perhaps an indication of risks down the road, so I'm being switched to something else. There is bound to be an adjustment period and must admit I'm not feeling very positive about that. Still, she was helpful, listened to my concerns and gave me a viable alternative, so I will endeavour to focus on the positives and not dwell on negatives that haven't happened yet!:o

Right, I've set myself some simple goals for looking after myself this month--a full litre of water each day on my desk, regular gym visits as this helps me cope with stress, and something to look forward to at the end of January. I've never met one of my OH's best friends as he lives down in London. We've arranged to meet him in Bath for a weekend--we've booked in at a budget hotel on a deal and OH has a discount for a hire car as the train was exorbitant . I'm trimming money on the SM budget each week in preparation so we can visit museums and go to the baths. I've been once and found it a lovely city so I'm very excited.

Hugs to any and all who need them--Monna, how was the great day of relaxation? It sounded blissful!
