Well done to the Stiltwalker family xxxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Lots of good news this morning, Hooray for LITTLE MISS STILTWALKER, who needs a christmas present after that eh? and Hooray for FUDDLE, an interview and hopefully a job pet? brilliant stuff, and glad to hear that some of you poor poorlies are feeling better too!!!
It's grey and damp here today, not raining just damp and cold the air so not very enticing outside. We're off with a friend to Makro this morning to get in some loo roll, and dishwasher stuff and a big bottle of washing liquid/conditioner which I know is a bit of an outlay but really does work out much cheaper than buying in smaller amounts and saves me having to carry heavy/bulky items. Was a day when I'd have looked for any bargains on offer but these days it's eyes down and stick rigidly to the list. I try for thier own brand in most things and whatever washing liquid is on offer this month in an effort to limit the spend.
Look after yourselves, see you later, Lyn xxx.0 -
Am off up to Dunelm to try and get a sheepkskin-y type underblanket. Wanted real sheepskin but changed mind because I want to wash it weekly. Might have a wee poke around the xmas stuff as well0

RIP my Servis Washing Machine, 2000 -2013.
There was a godawful noise late last night as it was doing what turned out to be its final, final spin. I could get someone out to see to it, but the door seal was damaged and at 13 y.o. and never having broken down, ever (though it had a few odd moments in its early days) it would probably be throwing good money after bad, as something else is surely due to go.
I had a bit of cash put aside for this eventuality as some very noisy spins for the last few months had given me some warning. This machine came from Arg*s, but their website was down when I looked in the early hours, so ao (used to be App!iances Online) it was. I would have supported the local supplier but they mainly deal in Hotp*int. Their machines are notoriously unreliable. Servis machines aren't widely available, sadly.
So I'm getting free delivery on Friday of a 7kg Bosch machine with 1400 rpm. I could have got something cheaper, but this was a great deal, and with a 2 year guarantee I have a bit of peace of mind.
I've also paid for disconnection/removal of the old machine and installation of the new one. I've disconnected / installed all the machines I've had in the last 20 years but my arthritic hip just won't allow it this time.
If I ask DS to disconnect and move it outside he may 'forget' to do a task that is time limited, so an extra £35 on the price was worth it.

Morning everyone.
Well done to everyone! Seems we’re all turning a corner and our hard work is paying off! Lets for once, enjoy it whilst it last!! Xxx
Stilwalker family congratulations. X
Fuddle, Good luck hun!!
Last night. OH decided to tell me that we only have 3 weeks left until Christmas. I really thought we had longer. But he’s right. Its shocking how quickly its came around this year. I assumed that we was really prepared, But looking at our lists, We still have a mounting of gifts to get & cards to write. Plus get food shopping in.
I still have everything in storage from the sales this year. I cant remember for the life of me whether we brought Christmas cards or not. Its not as easy to just get in the storage pile either as OH has put everything in the loft and I WILL not get up there!
I’m thinking for the people who have said that they don’t know what they want, I might buy some supermarket vouchers. It wont be a lot, but maybe £10 !celands - a$da. Ect. Can I ask, if you was to receive a gift like this - would you be insulted?
Today I’m again hooked on amaz0n and then have to move my rather large rump to get to counselling. Have a great day all & wrap up xFuture goals:

Princess, I think it depends on the sentiment behind the voucher and who you give it to. I told my OH I didn't know what I want, so if he got me a SM voucher and said he didn't know what else to get me but saw these in the SM when he was in there anyway, I'd be put out. If he got it and said, I know you enjoy cooking and thought you could use this to buy some stuff we wouldn't normally buy I'd think it was a nice gesture. If it was a cousin or someone I'm far less close to then I would think it was nice of them to think of me. Main thing is to make sure it is a shop where they can get to/are likely to want something.
To be honest I really do think it is the thought that counts, and sometimes that thought is in how you explain the gift.0 -
Thanks for the heads up FPK. x
I'm now on the hunt for a onesie. I always swore that i would never buy one. But Younger DB has asked for one for Christmas.
Problem i have now though is finding one for his size, He's 17 & 6'5. I don't want to buy one and he cant fit into it.
I've seen people rave about the one's from Primarks. Can anyone tell me if your OH's have these? Are they true to size ect?
Sorry for all the questions this morning peeps xFuture goals:

Morning all
Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Stilty on passing another module each!
Been a busy bee lately and can't remember when I last posted so forgive any duplications. Sat was DS7's big birthday trip to London - was a fab day though exhausting. Sun I was up early to whizz through the house cleaning, tidying, childproofing a bit and doing food to leave at 10.30. Glad to flop in a cinema seat after that. DS7 missed the end of the film in the loo feeling sick, he was flushed but ok the time we got home. Fun time back at ours, kids in living room/boys' room going crazy and adults gossiping around the kitchen table intermittently sorting out the children (ie every 2 mins!)
Mon, actual birthday date. V happy DS7 covered in birthday badges clutching sweets for his classmates after school. Eve bought 2 unexpected phone calls from my sister and later my mum for the birthday boy which threw me a bit tbh. DS seemed ok with the calls but hard to know really. Managed to bake and decorate our traditional choccy birthday cake during the day as the shop bought one was for the Sun and vanished pretty quickly. First time I have baked in months and looking forward to doing more... if I could just catch up a bit with other stuff. Both boys and DH eyes lit up when they saw the cake!
Tues bought wobbles going into school for DS7, think a mixture of excitement, tiredness, sibling fallout, (DS9 had a bit of the green eye so had to deal with some inappropriate comments from him) and maybe phonecalls from relatives he misses and hasn't even spoken to for months.
Today both boys offcolour. DS9 said he didn't feel great but shouldn't miss school so would give it a go. Managed to get DS7 to school but he had to dash into the loo there so bought him home. He does have an upset tummy but not sure the reason behind it. 2 Wednesdays this month school have phoned in the afternoon to collect DS who felt sick. There is a strict teacher (bought in outside school for certain sessions) and I think he may be getting so anxious he feels ill. Will speak to his class teacher when he is back. And then sometimes I assume it is anxiety giving him a headache, tummy ache etc and it turns out to be a bug or something.
Meant to be going into town to look for some stocking fillers but obviously stuck indoors today. I am hopelessly behind with Xmas after making a tentative start but at least now DS7's birthday has happenned I have a bit more time.
Tons to do indoors as ever, will do some more chores and if DS is ok (and in the other room) will look at boys' Xmas list. DS7's is sensible , DS9's looks like his whole class's list combined, it runs into several thousand pounds worth :rotfl:

Sq - glad you had a good weekend, does sound like your little one has a stress tummy. Worth a chat with the teacher and maybe see the GP to see if its the start of IBS - mine started when i was at school, i just didnt know what it was called.
Thanks for the carving knife info, I had heard of that, typically I don't have one (I do have a food slicer but not sure any amount of squishing would get a mattress in. Anyway, crisis averted, I've built the new bed, popped the mattress on to see the true sizing and it only overhangs an inch each side. As she sleeps slap bang in the middle this won't be a problem so I've left it alone for now. The bed looks fab, it's an ivory metal frame with twirly, girly twiddly bits. She'll be chuffed. I'm going to repurpose the base of the old one and assemble it in the loft, across some rafters at the back for a bit more storage space.
Just had a parcel arrive from fleabay, a PVC table cover, very pretty and fits the table beautifully, I only ordered one but I got two separate parcels from them with two identical cloths. Oh the dilemma, I didn't ask for 2 and it will cost me time and petrol to get back to the post office to return one. Part of me says just keep it, the other part says I should return it. Hello Everyone
Still no sign of my ring and it's loss is starting to hit me today. I'm going to check at the local police station and shops in the hope that it was lost there and handed in. DH phoned his Mom and told her it was missing while I sobbed uncontrollably. She was lovely about it, but I still feel really bad about losing it
I've completely lost the will to do anything this morning. I cut out some more bits for yet more stockings yesterday and have sat looking at them for an hour before giving up.
I did have a slight mishap with bondaweb and one of my tea towels now has a gingerbread man decorating the middle of it. Somehow I don't think it is going to catch on.
Well done Mrs, Mr and Miss Stiltwalker
Good luck with the interview fuddle
This is playing up now, so I'm going to post as is.
Take care xxxxxxxxx0
