Wow that's a lot of talking on here over the last 2 days. I have finally caught up.

I made the mistake of thinking I was working only a half day yesterday, then at 2pm realised I was there all day until 10pm. So I had to buy a sandwich, as I didn't pack much to eat. It was over £2. No wonder I take my dinner every day.

We advertised DD car on said auction site, they collected today so the money from that is our entire savings. We did do a naughty thing today, OH and DD and myself we went to the pub for lunch. Something that makes a lovely treat, and a nice cold drinky poos too.

Now im sleepy lol. Such a nice day, I have managed to get 4 loads of washing dried outside. The bed is all ready to be remade, is it ok to just put it back on and not iron the covers??

Well must crack on, bathroom needs cleaning....

I only ever iron things which really need it, I justify this as I'm doing my little bit of good for the environment / energy resources :D

I will try it when I start baking bread again...there are some great videos on You Tube with many step by step instructions, some recipes require no kneeding, also some on how to make sourdough bread...

Thanks for this:) it my oh that makes the bread, not that I don't want to. It's become his thing so will give him the info and await tasting and my job in quality control:D

:T Most excellent attitude. When energy saving, one's first thought must be for one's own personal energy, the next for one's environment.

T'other day Mum & I went up to her nearest supermarket, three-quarters of a mile each way. We left her car and took both of the four-wheeled shopping trollies and had a lovely little muvver-daughter convo on the way on a nice warm evening.

I may have had a small beer. I was tidying it up from the family-party leftover at the beginning of June. So it was practically a form of tidying up, don'tcha think?

Anyroad, thass my exshuse an I's sticking to it...hic!

Such a lovely day and I've managed to sleep though half of it. I really can't sleep these days until my brain shuts down through shear exhaustion and consequently fall asleep at about 5 and wake up about 11 managing to drag myself out of bed at 12:o
By the time I've sorted myself out and consumed coffee and fed the cats etc I seem to need a rest again. Not good when your supposed to be the carer:o
Today I am determined to cut the lawn and do a little planting. I love mixing earth, compost and water in a big bowl ready for my pots. Its the feel of it, so tactile and grounding. Is it a childhood mud pie memory kind of thing hidden in my subconscious I wonder.
Right off to get some breakfast.
Hope everyone's having a good day.

I have fibromyalgia and I don't know if it's that or something else but I have exactly the same problems as you have re sleeping. I've even tried staying up and not going to bed at all but it doesn't put me right, just makes me feel even more ill than usual the next day.
So no helpful answer I'm afraid, but just the rather cold comfort of knowing that you are not alone in this! A lot of people with ME have the same thing also.

    OK mega catch up time...

    GQ enjoy your beer

kittiej I quite agree about the ironing. I iron the boys' school shirts and trousers and that is about it

    happy birthday byatt:j

RPP hope there is something nice left at the end of your charity night

MrsLW the story about your neighbour did make me laugh

pooky hope you enjoyed your picnic. what a difference in temperature on the coast

pops the concert was amazing. it is always fantastic to see/listen to anything in the cathedral. there were abut 250 children and 100 adults and all sounded exceptional. I couldn't see or hear ds but he was there! I don't know what is involved with the gospels and what you get for £7.50. Although ds has been involved with the singing they don't get to see the gospels. we probably won't go to see them.

pops/AOT the music next week end in Durham is the brass festival..the miners gala is the week end after. I have seen bits of the gala but unfortunately for many it is an excuse to drink excessively

stiltwalker thanks for the explanation on keeping/using rice. i was never sure but that is very clear what to do

I like the sound of the egg ham things made in muffin trays. I remember seeing the recipe and didn't write it down. will go and look for it! Mini quiches sound good too.

    kidcat have a great holiday!

possession hope dd's irish dancing competition went well and your blood pressure is OK

jem123 well done to your boys. you deserve to be a proud mummy!

Am still fighting my way through the back pages, couldn't find you for a few days on my return to the land of the healthier!

What a lot of memories of the second half of 20th century....will go with mine another time when typing is less of a chore....picked some gooseberries yesterday and will get more to-more and make some jam....5/6 pots should be fine for us as we don't eat much jam anymore and still have blackberries, apples and elderberries to come. Bought a book from Book Depository on jams, jellies, chutnies, pickles and bottling so am going to try making small amounts of all this year....will see how it goes.

So tired that I feel I could sleep standing up but if I retire too early I won't be able to sleep until morning.

Fuddle...am sure that somebody has answered you r question already about elderflower....picture was bang on the money, to wash I just dip it a couple of times in clear water and shake gently, anything else will get rid of the yeasts.

Night all, back to-morrow to restart my catching up. Sleep well, stay safe,

    Marie

Also, a use for the rest of my coconut milk! I'm left with too much for my meals (its allowed primal) if it doesn't go into the rice pud can I freeze leftover tinned coconut milk?

Delurking to say, I freeze coconut milk all the time - only use 1/2 a tin when I make a thai green chicken curry, and once the frozen coconut milk thaws it is fine to use.

I always pour the half tin of coconut milk into a freezer bag and then put inside a plastic bowl. It takes on the shape of the bowl, and once frozen I remove from bowl. I do this as it takes up less space in the freezer.
