We'd all be happy little bunnies if people did what they were supposed to eh?

Like monnagran's awful story yesterday about her friend and the NHS. We are but numbers in a system being dictated to by other people in a system. If there's one bad apple in the system then the whole lot fails - leaving human beings in a stressed state with no-one being accountable because we're all just mere numbers!

I am turning cynical eh? Life does it to you though.

I am home alone today and very much needed. I'm making jam steamed pudding and custard in order to relax in a moment.

its true, takes one bad apple to ruin it all. But i am cynical.

just a shame that a person who such a horrible disease is treated like a stat rather than person

Gailey its hard doing everything. I for one am overweight because i don't eat enough, daft eh? Apparently my body is in starvation mode because i don't consume enough calories, daft eh?

Its rubbush with this other group, the kids will get sorted soon enough.

  • Morning all.

Hugs to everyone. Hopefully today will be better than yesterday for many!

Last night was an awful night's kip for us. Something must have happend during the night, Because at 2:05 this morning we was woken up by police lights flashing into our bedroom & a women kicking off & screaming.

To top that off, A car pulled up behind the police car & triggered a further out burst from the young women. The screaming and yelling started our doggers off and OH & I spent the rest of the night trying to settle them.

Finally at twenty past three someone decided to take the women home....As much as i hope it wasn't nothing serious, Today i'm very grumpy!

I've decided that i'm spending my morning watching a true story film. I need a few strong cups of tea before i can make head way on anything else....

Just come on for a quick read, Whilst i'm on hold with the TV licening. 30 Mins has past, 5 different departments and still no one can answer my question. I think a stiff email might be required now.
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy
  • Thanks kidcat -I would like a couple of bits in Ikea and can't justify the petrol so could do a two in one trip. What sort of size are the trees as our car isn't very big?

Nutty if you are reading, how is DD?

Princess - sorry about your broken sleep - a film and lots of tea sounds in order - enjoy!

Fuddle - great news re the freezer. Not long now - hoping the excitement will over compensate for the anxiety!

Gailey - I will nag you too - please eat more, little and often is a good plan. Hard boiled eggs left in the fridge - very nutritious and quick to eat. Dried mixed fruit, Liddylees and Allydees do some nice ones.

Kez - good luck for today - DO NOT put up with any nonsense, go girl! Good you have a meeting booked at school tomorrow as well. Not good enough for you all to get so stressed out when there should be support in place. As for your DH , he needs a kick up the backside - happy to administer! Hope you all have a calmer day today.

I woke today feeling angry with SIL  (actually DH's SIL but still) as this is the sort of attitude we have to put up with all the time (same as all DH's family). She is happy to send us charity shop books (no problem with that from anyone else only them because of their snobbiness re the presents we give them) without asking if our boys have the books. I need to speak to DH again but now isn't the time, will need to leave it for a couple of days as he is working silly hours next couple of days with college nights on top. I pick my moments carefully wherever possible.

Last night with MIL and FIL went ok, kids happy at least as hadn't seen grandparents for 18 months. DH said it was a bit awkward keeping the conversation flowing as the kids only chat for so long to grandparents and then tend to start chatting together, they are so close and role play a lot of games they make up. Sigh of relief until next time when I will probably have to go along as well.

Still undecided about my parents, kids haven't seen them for 15 months now. DH suggested inviting my mum to stay but don't think I can handle seeing her 24/7, haven't spoken to her in a year now since the last phone row. They could offer to come to us, my sister would drive and we could go for a meal on neutral territory. Maybe I should be brave and suggest that myself. They expect us to go to them all the time, my Dad has been to ours once in 11 years and that was for our wedding.

    Ok moaning over....drawing a line
and on to better things :). My slow cooker came last night so need to unpack it and have a look :j.

Booked cheap £1.50 tickets for Sunday cinema, we are treating 2 of DS6's school friends and 2 groups of family friends so 12 of us in all. Haven't told DS yet. Then planned to invite everyone back to ours for birthday cake. However realised that it will be after 1pm by then so will have to do some lunch.

Found some sausage rolls lurking in freezer so will bake them plus couple cheap pizzas, some crisps and bits and the cake to finish. I wasn't planning to do party food so will need to keep it pretty cheap but cheerful. DS9 didn't have a party for his last birthday, just a day out so will need to keep it simple and not like a big party IFYSWIM. DS9 did have a friend on his big day out though hence DS6 inviting 2 from school.

We have sun so first load nearly ready to go out on the line. Just had a naughty hot chocolate with squirty cream on to cheer myself up. Staying in today to get as much done as possible (erm once I log off here :o)

have a good day folks, hugs all round.

  • SQ I don't know if it would help for the future but Waterstones do a card that you can put whatever sum of money on to be used in any other branch, if you gave them an amount to put towards a book of thier choice, you can put in what you can afford to and they can put in the rest themselves? Lyn xxx.

Hi NANNA TO 4 hope you're on the mend and feeling better now, nice to have you back with us, Lyn xxx.

im bit skeptical about starvation mode as think it depends on the individual and their metabolism maybe.

As at most stressful points of life ended up losing weight.

Hubby lost some weight when he lost his job. Thankfully hes back to normal now.

A person who eats junkfood or poor processed food diet can be equally as malnourished as someone who ats very little its about getting balance of nutrients.

It was weird to read in i about cases of malnututrition and even rickets has increased in recent years in uk even suggesting worse in rural areas than city.Sees very sad i 2013 but a low cost diet i think something has to give and not always possible to get everything need if fresh is cut out.

I have read sometimes people have natural weight and body can rebel when try get past that weight and some can be hormone/thyroid related too so many factors other than diet.

In past quickest way has always been low carb but atkins can work out pricy diet and when hubby lost the weight he put in all back on.

I think it is tricky is to consistantly eat healthy and in moderation and take regular exercise as costs, time, lifes demands of family plus emotions can all play a part in sabotaging that.

I know i dont always have 5 a day or drink enough water.

My calorie intake flunctuates depending on my mood or how the days gone.

I did slimming world after baby no 3 lost just short of 2stone but got fed up and frustrated with it towards the end and that was expensive diet too and seemed to eat more than did normally

what a nightmare princess, just write today off and try and rest. There's always tomorrow.
You would have thought the police would of moved them on at that time of the morning.

nutty hows dd? hope the operation went well xx

no point SQ, he just goes off in a mood, can't be dealing with him and kids, double whammy.
at least night went well, thats something. don't mention the dreaded MIL i may have to see the, weekend *shudders*
Sounds like alovely birthday, the lads will enojoy it :)

hope your feeling better nanato4 :)

I'm not sure gailey, the docs told me my body goes into starvation mode because i was anorexic for over 10 years. Then bulimic now overweight. Can't win! So now i try and not eat after 7pm, apparently i'm supposed to, but i've read metabolism slows right down after that time.

I'm trying slimming world and it is expensive, atkins failed for me as i don't eat enough meat lol

still waiting for them arrive, doing my head as i can't concentrate on the accounts.

hi everyone, sorry for the delay in posting.DD ended up in theatre for 1hr 20 mins. They had to break the nose to remove part of the cartilage and then to seal some of the veins that caused the nosebleeds. Her nose is packed and strapped in wadding. DD was finaly discharged last night at 915pm. She was due to come out an hour earlier but we got to the lift and she felt faint. Sat her on the floor and she then was really sick. So they readmitted her and gave her an anti sickness injection. We got home at nearly 10pm and went straight to bed. I woke up lots in the night, kept poppng in to check she was ok.

This morning we have been to the local doctors and the nurse saw DD straight away. She changed the dressing on her nose. It looks big, bruised and very sore.

So I have the heating on low all day, dd is laid on the sofa all wrapped up in clean pj's and a fluffy blanket. She has childrens liquid paracetamol.

Just catching up on trashy tv.

Thankyou all for asking how she is x
