Morning everyone, have had a very early start as DD needed taking to work. Mum rang this morning she has been recalled by the mammogram unit at the local hospital after having her final screening last week.
The man over the road has got his Christmas lights turned on already they started on Thursday. We can see a santa, reindeer and a sleigh all shining brightly along with lots of strings of lights. No doubt the tree will be in their front window by the end of the weekend.
Not looking forward to work next week, I have 6 days off before I return. I would normally be doing some project or other at home. But I really feel tired and drained. Not looking forward to seeing said collegue when she returns - I spoke to my boss and he has voiced the same concerns.
I received an email and have free listings on ebay, think I will sort a few bits out and try and sell them. I have a couple of dresses that I cant fit in anymore - may as well sell them than keep them.
Well must run around with the hoover, and tidy up. OH will be home from work at lunchtime. take care xBSC member 137

lobbyludd - hope you feel better soon. You are doing the right thing taking it as easy as you can. Fishfingers are fine - lots of good stuff in the fish part at least! (Pooky, hope you wanted a big blob of ketchup with your sausage and chips accompanied by peals of laughter at the farty noise the bottle makes!)
Nutty - please do as lobby is doing and have some downtime before you go back to work, you have had a tough time of it lately and need to recharge.
(((((((((((((((((((((((kidcat)))))))))))))))))
Don't want to nag but feel I must as others have done. I know lots of stuff is essential with the children but some stuff isn't. Good for you in accepting help with the shopping etc BUT please please please say NO to anything non-essential. School fayres and dance classes for one thing and any other voluntary work, playdates, groups, clubs etc. Can DD19 do some housework for you and the kids help to tidy up? As long as the kids have uniform and undies and there is easy food to cook, leave the dust to settle and the beds unmade and no harm will be done.
There is only one kidcat in the whole world, one special person that is you and you must look after your health for your sake and your familys. Hope you feel better soon love.
Sheila - hope you got some sleep last night and feel less exhausted today. Hoping your and DH have a peaceful day. Hugs to you both.
Jazee - glad you posted and thinking of you as well today.
Princess - hope OH feels better soon and you are able to make his grandfather's birthday meal.
Ginny - glad to hear you are finding some time for yourself with your OH feeling poorly. Hugs to you both.
Well hugs and warmest wishes to all the poorlies and anyone struggling today.

Pooky -hope you are ok after your little op. Even if it was little, you were right to miss the fireworks, make sure you are fighting fit before dashing about.
Monnagran - keeping all me digits crossed, exiting times! Can't wait to hear how your trip to Somerset goes.
Kidcat - forgot to say something about DS9's hospital appointment. Don't know what to say that will be helpful but I hope the new diagnosis will at least help you, school etc understand his needs better and how best to support him. I so wish I could do something practical to help.
I am typing this in bed having just had a large mug of coffee and 2 pain au chocolates. Decided to do as DH does for large chunks of weekend and hide away for an hour and sod everything else. Feel so much better for it I can tell you.
Already done a fair few chores and will get dressed in a mo and do some more. DSs both have homework, DS9 a ton so will help them with that. Saving tomorrow for laundry and a trip into town as rain forecast all day. Rain should clear later so we plan to go to see the last night of a free firework display that a local seaside resort lay on for a few weekends to encourage people to go to theme park, arcades etc. Will see if any friends would like to join us.
Promised DS6 use of my lappy so better relinquish it.
DH has just come in and teased me about slobbing about in bed. What's that saying "what's good for the goose.....?"
take care

Dear lobby and Kidcat, please rest and recuperate. Your body needs to heal. Fish fingers, beans on toast will do fine for a couple of days. xxx
Apparently a layer of vicks on the soles of your feet at bedtime covered with a pair of socks can really help with a bad chest. Seems to be the most popular use for vicks now.
Jayzee, well done on cutting costs and getting rid of debts - very liberating.
Just waiting for Dgs to arrive for the night - my bliss - though a bit challenging. We all tried potty training this last week but until he is statmented the school cannot help and he doesnt like the tiny toilets there. He got stressed and unhappy so we are giving him a break from it, which means he can relax this weekend. The ups and downs of autism  he can count to 100 thoughClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Hello Everyone
(((((((((((((Shelia))))))))))))))) I am so sorry about your loss. I am sure that Rosie knew right to the last second how much she was loved and how much she meant to you xxx
Kidcat Get well soon and please, please, please rest as much as you can. xxx
lobby Get well soon xxx
Pooky I hope you are recovering quickly
Hello Jazee
I know it is much easier said than done, but please try not to worry too much about work nuttyp xxx
Well I'm still here, still wanting to hibernate and burst into tears at odd moments, but I'll be ok. The laundry is getting done and everyone is being fed so the rest can wait.
I've made three bags now to give as Christmas presents. I just have stockings and handbags and candles and flower brooches to make as well. I'm aiming for one thing a day on days I don't have other commitments. I'm going to double up Mr T vouchers to get as many stocking fillers and other presents that I can. If all else fails everyone is getting socks for Christmas.
I have ordered this for DH http://www.internetgiftstore.com/gifts-c6/dressing-gowns-c20/doctor-who-4th-doctor-towelling-robe-p1223#1448
Given how much they are on other sites I thought this was a bargain. I didn't think DH could pull off the Captain Jack Harkness one.
DS1 has his driving test on Wednesday. I'm really hoping that he passes as it is costing us a fortune. There isn't a car that he can practice in, so it has taken a few more lessons than we thought it would. If he doesn't pass then he will have to wait until after Christmas to try again.
I'd better go and sort something out for lunch. I think there might be a bowl of ragu lurking somewhere in the fridge.
Take care everyone xxxxxx0 -
Great gift SGD. I must look into using Mr T vouchers properly, I was just going to take them off my shopping bill. Any pointers welcome.Spend less now, work less later.0

KIDKAT AND LOBBY hope you are getting some rest.
PRINCESS hope your DH is ok for his grandfathers birthday.
SDG good to hear from you. Well done on the gifts so far. You can only do what you can do.
MONNOGRAN I've heard Somerset is lovely.
JAYZEE well done with all youve done to get your debts paid off. Been there though not as much as you, but would never want to be in that place again. It's so frightening.
I'm sure there are more to reply to but ((((hugs)))) to all.
Off to make a cottage pie and hopefully something else out of another pack of mince.
Have a good afternoon everyone.

nutty try not to worry and enojy the next few days, your colleagues feel the same way so you won't be on your own.
Went to see wyrd sisters last night, it was put on by a local theatre group. The play was so funny, had the characters down to a tea. the lads enjoyed it it.Then ds2 started playing up
Had been in meetings all morning and trying to get all the paperwork for the school stuff sorted for 3, didn't get home till after 4.
DS2 was having a total breakdown, he realised one of his social groups was on and weren't going. Little monkey looked on my phone and saw the reminder. Which i had forgotten to take off.
I've put my back out trying to sort him out.
We haven't had a such a bad moment like this in two months, so it was a shock. We've been to the point, but always managed to calm him down.
Then OH came in and made it worse by shouting about the lack of shampoo and saying why tea wasn't ready, saying he how i made everything worse by not controlling ds2 reaction. to the change in routine.
So i kicked off at him, not good, and i had to calm ds2 again. My back got twisted, my knees twisted and popped out and back in again.
The second half of the play he was nightmare and i gave ds2 to OH and said i can't do this, you deal with him. OH didn't like it, but i thought s0d him, i'm in agany, popped a load of pills and docused on that and ds1.
During the first half, we all couldn't stop laughing, the actors really engaged with the crowd. DS2 loved the first half. The second half was slower so didn't hold the monkeys attention.
We've agreed to see what else is on and go to that to.
So have got lamb in the oven cooking, got a huge chunk of it for £8 instead of £18 out of asda.
Hopefully will make a few meals of that, rest of the day have tons of washing to do, as well as cleaning. But i can#t do everything as i can't bend down. So going to relax in between loads and watch a film with the kids. OH is at work.0 -
Just popped in to have wee read - Shegar was asking after your whereabouts on another thread - and so sorry to hear about your wee one. Such difficult decisions you're facing just now - i'll be thinking of you.
Kidcat please take care of yourself - when my children were younger I had similar responsibilities as you although not so many - 2 of my 3 children had serious issues, the third less so but still pretty full on, and took all of time to raise them - they are 3 of the most wonderful young adults you could meet now and i'm very proud of them. However!! when I was diagnosed 3 years ago with degenerative psoriatic arthritis they directly linked it to the years of personal neglect where I had no choice but to put my own health issues last - I'm certainly paying for it now. I still cannot see how I could have done anything different, especially when my husband left, but at a time when I thought I may be able to prioritise myself a little more I find my health deteriorating rapidly.

Jazee All the toiletry gifts are half price in Mr T's at the moment and you can double up your vouchers to pay for them. You can also double up to get clothes, toys, baby and toddler things and electricals.
Here is the link to show you what you can double them up for in-store.
http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/boost-at-tesco/
You can also get up to four times the face value of the vouchers using them for things like restaurant vouchers and days out. I took DS2 to Cafe Rouge during half term and paid £6 in cash and the rest cost me £7.50 in clubcard vouchers.
I hope that helps.0
