    Thanks Chris,
Cakes were a hit even if they looked a bit flat lol.
My friend is down for the weekend and brought loads of gf stuff with her, so don't need to worry about doing any more at moment, till next time. But a lovely kind gesture.

    Morning all

Mrs Veg - lovely to see you, glad MILs op went well. My MIL had her hip done two years ago and was up and around so quickly, it was lovely to see her pain free.

Lisa - good luck for your DHs op. I had an epidural when I had a C-section, I can honestly say I didn't feel a thing,it's the most bizarre feeling not being able to feel your body or know where it is when you can see its there but it worked a treat.

Not sure what today holds in Pooky towers, DH is very under the weather (this week's been to busy for him) and was in bed by 4.30pm yesterday.

I've got a door curtain to make and a quilt binding to finish, several chritsmas presents to make and 32 ton of ironing to do (well about 12 things but I really dislike ironing at the moment). Soup to make, satsumas to eat and a a fridge to clean out. It's life on the edge I tell ya!

DB seeing mum over the weekend, so one less thing to do, but still plenty of other jobs. Want to dig out fabric bits to start making Christmas presents and decorations and soak fruit for Christmas cake.

Good Morning, FUDDLE im so sorry about alfie but you definatley did the right thing. Too many people try and keep pets cooped up in small spaces. If things work out ok in devon maybe in the future you can get another dog if you are allowed pets at your new home.

Going to meet DD in a while she is going to do my nails, I am taking my dress I bought from primarny. One wash and it has shrunk two sizes, so she is going to try it on. If it fits, then she is having it.

Well must get on, lots to do - taking my mum with me to see DD. Take care everyone x

mrs vp glad to hear your mil is recovering

Fuddle hunni you have nothing to be ashamed or guilty of, you made the right decision and for the right decisions.
Alfie is probably running around like a a psycho at this moment in his new home. His owners are probably thinking what an amazing dog he is because he's so friendly and kind hearted. Guess what he's that way because how much effort and love you poured into him.
So just think you have made another family extremely happy and given Alfie a new home which is perfect for him.

stilt sounds like you all had a fab time. Great news with the car, does make you feel better when the bill is n't as high as you think it will be.

Sheila, hope your feeling better hunni x

Can't believe i missed out on the wine humphh but still i had an extremely large glass of baileys last night with ice at the party.
All the children really enjoyed themselves, they apple bobby, wrapping mummies (literally), catching doughnuts lol was just too funny. Most of the kids there had special needs but they all got on and loved every minute of it.

We were all dressed up, me in my witchy costume, my hair still has flakes of green in it!

Have to go and see and the hateful mil today bleurgh
  • Hello all,
Enjoying a saturday at home, since I was at work last weekend! Currently sat on the sofa with the laptop on my knee, candles lit on the hearth and i'm rewatching last week's Downton Abbey!
Been making the shopping list for A**A shop tonight. We don't need a huge amount this month, so we are going to treat ourselves to the Yankee Candle Christmas set - 2 medium jars with lovely christmassy scents for £15 i think. We love having candles in our living room, and when it gets to December, we put up the decorations and light the Christmassy candles :)
I have some work to do today that I had to bring home over the weekend, but I cant seem to get the urge to start it! Once I actually get started it wont take me long, just a couple of hours, but I am a fantastic procrastinator!!
Think I might make some chocolate brownies today as a treat for my BF who is still off work sick with a very bad back. We get the big boxes of brownie mix from Costco, and its really lovely!
    Hope everyone is well!
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j
  • lisakay MIL had an epidural as well as she is not good with general anasthesia. The following day she was up and walking with a frame to the toilet and back. The day after (yesterday) the frame was gone and she was using crutches. MIL purchased a grabber before she was admitted and has been given a prescription for a perching stool for the kitchen so that when she makes something to eat or drink she can sit in the kitchen with it as she can not carry things and use the crutches. We wanted her to come and stay with s but she wants to go home and I understand why so we will be popping round every day to keep an eye on her.

The ward rules are hands washed and apron on before entering the ward, strict only two visitors to a bedside at any one time and absolutely no visitors sitting on the beds. There is also only 1 hour of visiting a day. These rules are all in place to reduce the risk of the patients getting infected wounds. The infection rate on MIL's ward is very low. However I can see no problem with children visiting as long as they don't have any sniffles, mind you that goes for anyone visiting people in hospital not just children.

MIL could have been discharged today but as she has asked for help on discharge she is staying in until Monday as the care (three visits a day) could not be arranged to start before then.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

Just returned from our 100th birthday party. Obviously the local paper sent a photographer and he was amazed when the centarian rose to her feet, greeted him graciously and trotted off to cut the cake with him running behind. He said that he was expecting someone swathed in shawls. He's never met the likes of our Margery before.
The Rev has gone of to the British Legion's 'Evening to Remember' and I am just chilling. The house is a tip and it can stay that way till Monday. Somehow I have to get it tidy and clean enough to be viewed by any prospective minister. I must say that the thought of all the hard work ahead doesn't fill my heart with pleasure.

  • Our first snowstorm is expected tonight. It's already coming down and lying. The big white, fluffy flakes. It's earlier than predicted. The weather gurus said it would be early Sunday morning.

Now I have to drive to and from work in it. At least the cars are ready for it.

Night shift here I come I feel like a zombie.
