KATIEOWL: Not sure if I have read wrong as no one else seems to have suggested this, but did you say your replacement is coming with your friend. Can't you ring her and tell her that it just isn't convenient at the moment? Sorry if I have the wrong end of the stick. Esther x

No Esther that is exactly right. Funnily enough I did think of doing that, when I spoke to her before I told her to tell the friend to call me. I might just do that tomorrow. I'm sure she doesn't want to hike all the way here with G. in tow for days on end. She's got family!

No, it's thinner - more like cotton sheeting. You could design a logo and print it on in a grid, then cut it out ( a bit like button badges) and overlock it onto the bag. I think it is washable, but not sure how long it would last.

    This is it

Edit - but the pack I have got is 6 sheets :)

Just been reading the blurb for that, it says it's washable! Wonder how they do that?

I bought a fabric pen (dylon) today - need to have a proper go, but first impressions is too thick, and also a laundry marker from WH Smiths, dithered about whether to buy the budget own brand or plump for the better quality 'permanant when ironed' Pilot pen which was nearly a fiver, which I decided being a quality product would be the best bet. Tried that when I got home, and it doesn't blimmin' work at ALL  That's going STRAIGHT back to Smiths for a refund!

Well, if you want pack just let me know, I've got an unused one going spare :D - we need to come up that way to go to the opticians :(. You could certainly print any text and do a bit of embroidery around it, I think it would work well!

What do you bet your friend has given the person coming with her the idea you really, really want to see her as your replacement to put your mind at rest etc. etc.

In other words you are both of you being bludgeoned and emotionally blackmailed.

I think if you "level" with the person that your health is not up to it, it was not your idea and the place is full - you will be doing both of you a favour.

Elona I do not doubt the truth of what you have said for ONE MOMENT. I've had a few private phone calls with my replacement over the last few years, and I've told her unequivocally that she must not let her persuade her to do things she doesn't want to do. BTDT. I think I will send her a text message, she'll probably call me and confirm what you say!

Give me a sheet or two to experiment with then please :A, and I'll be making pasties again on Tuesday and Thurs so PM me! I've just booked for the optician on Thursday. Dreading the bill. I found out last year they'd decided we didn't qualify for free NHS any more - dunno why - cos' we definitely aren't any better off :rotfl: I've got a contact lens check up, and an ordinary sight test, and I know I need new reading glasses to go over my contacts, even if the prescription hasn't changed, because the ones I am using are scratched to the point of not being a lot of use, and I have a pair of glasses, to wear without contacts, you know just in case. If he says the prescription hasn't changed, I think I might just ask him to repair the frames, the nose pad thingy has come off.

Vetty person also wanted Miss Matty Moo back when she'd finished her ear drops so she could check all was clear, so doing that next week too....oooh it's all looking expensive :( I'm also supposed to be going C word shopping in Swansea with my friend/neighbour on Sat 2nd...I also need replacement shoesies, maybe they will have to wait till the sales.

Katie your optician would probably repair your specs for free, after all good service means you will go back and give him huge wads of cash again. Oh took his back to Mr T and they fixed the nose bit for him last week.

I bought one of the turkey drumsticks from Mr M the other day. Its the full leg for £3 and it cooked up lovely and tender. have decided to empty the big freezer this week and re-fill it with packs of meat before the prices go up for Chrimbo. Am going to buy 3 of the drumsticks because theres loads of meat on them, this one was 1.6 kg  So far I have made 4 portions of curry, turkey pie and theres a good bit left for butties. I think cooked meat for sandwiches is now a total waste of money, over processed rubbish so buy cooked shank off the market or if Im flush the £10 leg of lamb which makes lots of meals.
