    Hello all,

Phew, im pooped. Three days to cleanout DD1s pit has left me with a nasty bout of sciatica and frayed nerves. The room looks lovely though and shes very pleased with it. We won a new desk on eb@y for her room and when we went to collect it yesterday the couple were just loading their car with tree branches and trunks theyd been cutting down....we got chatting and they ended up following us home and dumping it all on our drive.....seemed like a good idea until i realised i had to cutit all up this morning :) managed to pick up 11 pallets this week too so plenty of free fire wood for us.

Mrs LW - what a gorgeous name Lentil will have! I changed my mind a few times when I was pregnant and didn't finally decided until I'd actually seen my girls.

DD2 had orthadontist earlier and is now in agony so soft mushy beans on toast for her. I've got a lasagne cooking for everyone else, I've used the roasted veg soup mush (sieved the soup, saved the resulting vegetable matter) instead of meat and made a cheese sauce out of all the grated leftovers from the freezer (I freeze the ends of bits and bobs, like mexicana, picketed onion cheese, etc.) will be very tasty and a free meal in my eyes as its all leftovers.

Jem - I cant wait either, I love the school holidays and cant wait for them to be off again. Last meeting I had with EWO I pointed out that with all the different school runs and the back and forth I can often cover 100 miles in a day and never leave our town, that equated to 4 gallon of diesel for me, which is scary. I am hopeful that now DS15 stays longer at his placement and while I have the current arrangements in place for timing that I can keep that to the 250 miles I have been averaging for the past two weeks.
  • Hi all
Tried remembering who posted what, made notes and everything, then tied the table for tea, sorry.
Anyways, do remember you talking about my favorite author Anne macaffery, I have nearly every book she had written, sadly she passed away early this year.

It's been 2 weeks since i was signed off work, and it has helped me come to a descion, i have arranged to meet my manager next week to look at taking a few months unpaid leave, i will never have this time with my dh again. So need to make the most of it, and certainly as he deteriates more ican care for him. It will mean tignting 8ur belts a lot, but there are the savings there and no work eexpenses ok and no wages, could claim CA but that's not much a week.
We will survive, I will survive.
Hugs to all will post more later. X

cornishchick - have you had proper benefits advice? I know McMillan can arrange for benefit advice for you if you need it. Carers allowance may not be much but its also a threshold benefit and receiving it often triggers other entitlements.
And you are right, you do not need the added stress of fitting in work, you wont get this time back again. Good luck for your meeting :)

Cornish, claim everything you're entitled to! I get CA for looking after my DH and it keeps us afloat.

Tea was a huge success, I'm now ready for my bed (DD1 didn't get home until nearly 1am and it was gone 2am before I was asleep....alarm went off at 5.30am and it's been non stop since.)

AOT I wondered about that mini sewing machine...sounds ok. Hope the threads and needles are easy to get for it...I don't sew much and not enough to invest in a full size machine. I can do simple sewing(not well)and very slow.

Oh we're all so positive and keep trying even though for many its difficult. What else can we do? Looks like we can expect it getting worse going by the news coming from the last big political conference.

I guess we'll just keep plodding on...

It was a lovely sunny day but sadly I did not take advantage of it...perhaps Wednesday/Friday or the weekend I can. It gladens the heart...
