Only just catching up and a couple of days behind, but just wanted to say to FUDDLE that the mistake with the company car could have been made by anyone and you have nothing to be ashamed about with that. Having to pay back the TC's is certainly a problem that you are doing well to try and sort and you should be proud of the way you are trying. As for the possible more to Dorset - How Exciting!

I don't really have much to add in the way of meal stretching, I learnt it all here. But mince with added lentils, oats, veg and some soya (if you would use that), all done in the slow cooker or large pan, can then be turned into shepherds pie, topping for jacket potato, bolognaise with added tomatoes etc., and chilli with added beans. It is so versatile and I can get about fifteen portions out of 500g of mince. Please no one tell me this isn't healthy, not enough meat - not sure anyone from this thread would, but I know there are those who think this, but in a case of needs must, it certainly does the trick and you can't tell how little meat is in a portion.

Also, thick soups as has been said, with the soup pulse mix and what ever veg you have in. I usually just use diced up onion, carrot and potato with the pulse mix. If you can make your own stock from rubber chicken then great, but stock cubes on their own will do otherwise.

Pasta with a little ham and some veg and tomatoes, cheese if you have is cheap. I have just got 300g of ham pieces for £1 in farm foods. They will go in pasta and make some sandwiches too.

I do them on 180 boult. Hope you like them. Getting nervous now though as they are no where near as nice as Twinks, just a war time treat that are nice enough to eat :)

Thank you Esther. I've read a lot about people tripping up over company cars. I'm not sure it's worth £6000 to us as a family though. Plus DH is taxed on having it too.

I meant to add earlier when talking of budget meals and the dispute, that a well known female TV chef said last week on R4's Kitchen Cabinet she uses lots of the value range of food and mostly they are fine.

My mum used to bake on a Friday. Mainly ground rice tart and apple pie, oh and Victoria sponge. Very occasionally she made date slice too.

When I went back to live with my Mum, her baking day was sunday, seeing as the oven was already on, and it was always a big 4lb fruit cake for the pack up's, a dozen fruit scones for the old man next door and 6 cheese scone's for my Mum only.

thanks for the carrot cookies fuddle!
    Will definitely be trying them.

Well i'm shocked, gutted and fuming all at the same time.
Took ds1 to the orthodontist and said they wanted £1500 for a set of fixed braces and ds1 would have to wear a retainer for life after the braces had been taken off  just in case his teeth moved again.

They said his teeth weren't crooked enough to qualify for free treatment. Now they is no way i can afford £1500 for braces.
I feel guilty because if does need them then fair enough.

But i'm angry because i spent £10 on travel expenses getting there and back. We waited over 45 mins to see them and then he only checked his teeth for less than two mins!:mad:
To me it also feels like a money making scam.
So i phoned my dentist and explained and said well thats life.so i said i want a second opinion, said no, i said right is mr A getting a kick back off the other private denitst or what? The nurse stuttered and said about getting a referral to the in house orthodontist instead.

Does anyone know what class 1 and class 2 teeth wise.

I'm gutted a si don't know what to do, my children's health is really important to me. So i'm really scared about what to do.
