Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted for a bit. I apologise for not mentioning the aldi voucher last week too, mind you to get the 15 off you needed to spend 75!!!!
Was really run down and had cold and chest infection again. So roll on another course of anti biotics, 16 steroids a day to kick start everything and well I am a little better. Just overly tired and Christmas well phah to that. what I haven't bought wont be being bought. Poorly pooch here too, he has an infected tear duct so his eye is very red. Vet person was lovely and very keen to do his full mot. He goes in for the snip on the 7th. daddy is taking him.
On better news youngest DD has had another school contact her to arrange an interview for the apprentaship as a teaching assistant. This is an academy and is exactly what she wants to do, it is also in the next town so easier to get too.
I am going to attempt to catch up now xBSC member 137

Hi.
The Christmas Machine is fully operational here. The Rev has 8 carol singing sessions this week. She is reduced to making up very rude words to the most frequently used carols. I just hope there are no lip-readers watching her. I have had my second turkey dinner and another couple on the horizon.
We set out early this morning to get some more bird seed from the Garden Centre. I wasn't going without my breakfast so tucked into porridge liberally swamped in (sorry Mar) golden syrup. Well, a bottle of pouring syrup seemed to have smuggled itself into my basket and it would be VERY WASTEFUL not to use it. Wouldn't it?
Anyway, we had vouchers for free coffee so The Rev went to fetch them and came back with said coffee and two toasted teacakes thickly buttered. Yum. I'll start my diet again tomorrow - honestly!
Have realised that if I don't soon get my posting parcels off they may as well become New Year's presents. As they are all still tossed randomly in various bags and boxes it will probably take the rest of today to sort, wrap and pack them. Not my favourite job.
Kidcat: Lots of love and prayers on their way to your small corner. I hope whatever it is that is sitting on your shoulders lightens up soon. You don't deserve anything else to endure, I don't know how you get from day to day as it is.
Please wrap your arms around yourself and hug hard, imaging that it is all of your friends here loving and supporting you, because we are you know. x
Sheila: You are another one who has had more than enough troubles this year. Here's hoping that now your foot problem is dealt with everything else will calm down too.
Stilty: Poor Miss Stilty! What a rotten time to be ill. Poor you too. At least it is over and done with, (hopefully.) Neither of mine would get the usual childhood illnesses in spite of all my efforts. They still have mumps to come and they are now in their forties - doesn't bear thinking about. They both managed to get chicken pox at 19 and 21. It was horrific. Their temperatures went into the stratosphere and they were hallucinating and very ill indeed. At least if they get anything now their wives and girlfriends can take responsibility.
Possession: All I will say to add to all the advice coming your way, is that you are in the middle of moving, even if a date has not yet been arrived at. This in itself is traumatic, do you really want to take on anything else until you are settled in your own life? I don't think that your friends have considered the enormity of what they are asking of you.
Mar: Ouch! Ouch! and multiple Ouches! That tooth will be more comfortable once the dentist has done his devillish work but you can hold my hand if you like. Don't worry about the digging fingernails, my hands are as tough as old boots - to which they bear a startling resemblance.
Right, present-wrapping - here I come. Well perhaps a restorative cuppa first.

Mar I hope your poor mouth soon feels much better and that you found just the right present
nuttyp What lovely news about your DD :T
monnagran and anyone else with adult children or partners who've never had mumps; please encourage them to have the MMR, even if it has to be done privately. My father caught mumps in his late 40s and ended up with encephalitis, which caused dementia.
I did say I was going to write my cards today; well, I have at least managed the one for my DB who lives overseas. I posted it at noon and noticed that that particular postbox now gets emptied at 0900 during the week, and at 0700 on Saturdays!0 -
reading along still, v busy. school carol service today, it was beautiful and DS8 had an unexpected little role so that was a lovely surprise. some family stuff on, nuff said but I am coping, just concentrating on the practicalities and attending school events and meeting up with local friends in between things.
managed to spend £75 in allidedums today as my ordinary winter stocks were so low - the loveliest lady helped me unload at checkout and repack the other end as I was clearly looking harried and timing tight for school pickup. Was so grateful to her I gave a hug and kiss to say thanks. Have a 2nd voucher which I might use to add to winter stocks and fresh bits. a lot of money but no council tax come Jan and Feb plus less food to buy so all should even out and money saved. Cats are now well provided for!
Huge hugs all round but especially to:
kidcat, sheila, nutty, Miss stilty and mar. Here if you need a chat kidcat, just a PM away.
good luck to Miss nutty
thanks monna - you are a real tonic, love, love, love your humorous posts.
back to it, non cold food in bags everywhere, piles of dirty dishes and dinner to make. then more card writing and if enough energy wrapping.0 -
possession, one way to say no, if you decide to say no, would be to say that your husband doesn't want you to, he wants you to really try and get going with your online work
(i have got out of a few things in the past by saying, oh says no!)0 -
Whiteguineapig, OH does indeed have even stronger reservations about it than me! I'm just going to say nothing at the moment and see what transpires. I've finished wrapping today other than 1 present for OH's elderly grandfather who is virtually impossible to buy for now as he's 94, diabetic, very poor eyesight, very poor mobility and dislikes most stuff! He has 2 bottles of wine, which he probably isn't supposed to drink due to his medication but a little birdie told me he still enjoys a tipple occasionally. And why not, he doesn't enjoy much else.
I'm hoping to spend a couple of days this week educating myself on SEO and affiliate marketing with a view to starting my blog at some point soon. Plus I suppose I ought to do some packing, although I've packed most of the very non-essential stuff already, it starts to get a bit more complicated now.0 -
Thanks everybody, got it done ok but it was a wee bit sore coming out, and I was hitting the roof with pain by the time I got off the bus. Had 2 softboiled eggs and an overdose of painkillers and it has calmed down for now. The dentist was a wee girl of 12, and I felt like screaming at her to go and find me a grownup. But she obv knew her job lol because it came oot!0

Oh Mardatha, my teeth are aching just thinking of it. Time for some nice soft chocolate pudding for you. Talking of people looking younger than they should be, we were at my friends daughters primary school graduation recently. One of the teachers looked about the age of the class
Posession, Mr Money Moustache has rather a lot of advice on doing that sort of thing for blogs, you may want a quick shufty.
Thank you Monnagran, I've just added golden syrup to my shopping list. The thought of that on porridge made me drool.
Nuttyp, hoping your chest infection clears and wishing success to your DD.
And sending hugs all round. Seems like a real tough time.
I turned a corner this weekend and am feeling fine physically. I still know not to lift anything and am still avoiding normal pants, but overall, not bad at all.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070
