I concur with all others have said Fuddle it's not going to be easy. We are all behind you and thinking of you all the time.

Did you get the ink out of your overall? I guess you will not be doing it again.

It's not out completely nurse Maggie but enough to wear it. I keep splodging with milk before I wash it. Also tried vinegar and bicarb. At least it's wearable. Can only get better eh? At least I didn't wash my watch pin this time...

I keep rubbing star drops into the soot stains on DS1's whites, & have convinced myself they are fading - of course, he then holds another sooty bottomed saucepan to himself & adds fresh stains...

I made bread tonight, & it turned out well - the last batch didn't have enough water in so was a bit dry. Ah well, it all got eaten.

At least it is me and my inadequacies I'm dealing with spikyhedgehog. I have no excuse other than not concentrating. I've never understood why chef's (I'm presuming DS is into food prep?) wear white

I've been up since 2.30am so figured I would do some NVQ work. Stupidly had a coffee (why would I do that  ) so now got brain fog. Just going to finish ordering the groceries then try to drift off for a couple of hours. I should (no colleague sickness, please) be finished work at 11am tomorrow and could do with a couple of hours to just be me and fly around the household chores.

Going to have more of that tomato sauce for tea with sausage meatballs and pasta (again) just for simplicity and ease then freeze any leftovers. Freezer space is in short supply but if I put in plastic bag I can kind of mold it to fit the crevices :rotfl:

Seafood chowder is on the menu again at the end of the week but to save on fish costs I am trying the cheaper smoked river cobbler instead of smoked haddock. I've got mince cobbler on the menu too with a side of greens. We like cheese scones and gravy in this house. :D

The condensation issue is becoming an issue now the colder temps are in and already we have a bit of mould on the windows/sills. It's going to be a full time job keeping on top of that, for sure. Bedroom windows are already permanently ajar slightly and we don't heat the house too hot - we always have socks, cardi's for instance. I guess that a dehumidifier would be a sensible thing but our heating is electric and don't really want to add to that bill. Plus being bijoux here, it's an issue where to store the blessed thing :rotfl:

We have a dehumdifier Fuddle. What's a downside for us would be an upside for you though, it heats the air up. Chances are you'd reduce your heating costs somewhat by running one.

Great news on the scan Stilty. :)
Have you tried something like these Fuddle? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005MZ1EJE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00
Amazing how much water they collect.

Hi stiltwalker - not trying to stalk you but was very interested in the Riding for the Disabled you mentioned on Calendar News. I used to run a group for adults every week come snow, rain - you name it. I couldn't find your particular article/ programme snippet so wondered if you could point me in the right direction? Thanks x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I couldn't find it either - hope it hasn't been pushed off the website by other things :(

ETA Fuddle Good luck with your Mum, pet. You wouldn't be you if you didn't want to help her. Hopefully she has indeed had her lighbulb moment xx
  • Good morning everyone

Wow that concert sounded so amazing Mrs LW and so lovely to be greeted by your doggy who obviously missed you tons!

Great scan results were ok Stilty.

There is a lot I could say re your mam and her alcohol dependency fuddle but I will just keep it simple and say I understand your thoughts and actions and hope for a positive outcome. You sound sensible and sorted about it all but I will just add to the chorus - please look after yourself and your family of 4 first and foremost. We are all here for you.

Oh and if you can, get a little dehumidifier fuddle. We have pretty bad condensation and it takes up a fair amount of time every morning and eve to deal with. The things that really make a difference are opening windows, a little heat (yeah I know the 2 are opposite!), reducing things like drying washing indoors, steam from pans etc and definitely a dehumidifier. I use a scoopy thing (from land of the lake) to wipe the wet, it collects in the handle and means I don't have as many cloths to dry after (causing more condensation!).

Life has been busy for your kezlou. Brilliant that things are moving along for your dad. Well done to DS1 with his exam predictions, what a star and also to DS2 for coping so well. Proud mum eh? :) Make sure you have a little time for yourself too.

We had a lovely birthday atmosphere this morning for DS8. He has gone off to school happy wearing his birthday badges. Cats are freaked out as usual by the balloons, poor old boys.

Need to clean and tidy, remove breakables, certain toys and gadgets, pop to supermarket and sort food for a couple of family friends and their offspring coming over after school. Unfortunately all the children get a bit carried away for various reasons (some unavoidable, some lack of parental control) and one child in particular is rather difficult to have round for too long and drives my eldest mad - she knows just how to push his buttons though. So I will be trying to manage various personalities whilst trying to keep DS8 happy and being a good hostess. Boys do not want some of the children over but as they are not (for the first time ever) invited to DS8's cinema trip at the weekend (as it will spoil it and we can't afford it), I had to invite them over today. Not doing so would have been incredibly hurtful for those people and sometimes as I have explained to my two we have to do things for other people, like it or not, birthday or not! I will be breathing a huge sigh of relief when they all leave.

right coffee and toast done, best get back to it
