    Evening all

Jem - I have used standard flour for bread making (in a bread machine) - it turned out ok but not anywhere close to using proper bread flour - it's all to do with the gluten I think.

It's been really miserable here today, lashing rain, gale force winds and grey and dark all day. Quite pleased to be able to pull the curtains and put some lights on.

Loads of washing to get dry so will light a fire in a bit - the house is warm from cooking dinner but I seem to be over run with washing so a fire will do the trick (free wood to burn).

DH has an online tutorial for his course tonight so I shall get the meal plans updated, order an online shop (really need to go back to this to save some pennies) and get my christmas gift lists up to date.

Have just booked to go to France with DH for a day trip jolly for his birthday in November and off to Brugge with DD2 the week before Christmas. I took DD1 last year so DD2's turn this time. It makes me feel very festive :)

jem I think Jack Monroe has a soda bread recipe using ordinary flour. Not tried it myself but apparently it is nice.

Hi Jem - have to agree with everyone else that normal flour just does not work for yeasted bread but there are soda bread recipes where you can get away with using normal flour although they require baking soda so you would need gluten free baking soda/baking powder as well, then it would be a case of a small batch to test it.

If you DS is year 6 then yes, it may well be conversion to the new education health care plan your local parent carer forum (which is EPIC for Leeds which is your area I think?) should be able to signpost you to the Independent Supporters for your area who should be able to support you through the process, you can also google Scope independent supporters Leeds as they are the ones who got the contract for the Leeds area and you can get in touch with them direct. Hopefully you'll not find it as scary as you think.

The surgeon did a grinding down on heel bone and said he drilled 5 times somewhere but I didnt catch what he said , he said I must not put pressure on that foot for 3 wks, ....He advised on a zimmer frame and a special boot for the foot , so im home doing everything he told me to , well my son was in there and he is going to make sure I dont do anything I shouldnt , as everyone knows I cant sit still for half hour....So with the zimmer frame and having to hop on right leg I find it hard work, I got on all fours and got myself to the loo that was the best thing to do and easiest , im 2 stone over weight and im quite a lump to hop , everything jumps up and down , if you get my drift..,,,(sheila shegar)

Sheila at least you got your op and you are ok and doing as you're told :D With everything you have to go through yourself at the moment, I can't imagine how the heck you would cope had your OH been under your care too. The tiredness I feel after caring for a few hours is unreal. My weekend shift is a killer but I get to relax this evening and every other weekday evening.

Sheila fab news about your OH's mate. It's a good scenario for everyone :)
