Indeed Mrs LW! Nothing like a gentle purr and having her brush up against you or settle down for a nap.0

Morning all
Welcome Caterina :waves:
Happy birthday Kidkat - hope you get a chance to stop and catch your breath today...
And yes....car ornament.....we need more info....."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Yes definitely need to know about the car ornament.
Hello Caterina.
Somebody needs to kick me up the bottom, have so much to do but I'm sitting here in my dressing gown and DH has just given me another cup of tea. Having looked at quite a few houses now we've decided ours looks too scruffy - we haven't painted for about 8-10 yrs and it shows. Plus the state of the carpets. We resisted painting because really it's all or nothing, but it might need to be all as we need a quick sale not to hang on for months. We saw a lovely house yesterday, which is really close to town and walking distance to DD's school, but it will go quickly and we have only had 2 viewings who both felt ours needed too much work. We don't need kitchen/bathroom/windows done so that can only mean decorating/carpets/garden. At least if we get one done it might help a bit.0 -
Oh Mrs L - our previous 'old boy' used to hear the alarm go which to him meant it was getting up time - no use turning over for a 5 min snooze when you have a cat that sniffs your eyelashes & starts to purr so much you just know he's going to dribble - euk! Always worked though......:)
Fairy Princess - after 40 years I've learned that if you want DH to do something ASK. They are not mind readers & most most certainly dont see the things that have to be done the way we do. It makes for a lot less stress all round.
Off to give my apple tree a trim ready for next year & pick some more tomatoes. They've gone mad this year like yours Mrs L - more soup & sauce in the freezer!
Have a good day allSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Sorry ladies, predictive text strikes again, it was a cat ornament! :rotfl:0

Kidcat you have no idea what a disappointment that is.0

Well put the cat ornament in the car and we'll all be happy!!
Possession - I think you need to weigh up the cost of getting the decorating/carpeting done against a potential drop in price to reflect the work that needs doing. I wouldn't be put off by decorating and replacing carpets but I would be put off by brand new carpets that weren't to my taste. (I do appreciate I'm not like an average buyer in this respect.)
Get your estate agents opinion too - they should know what works best in the area.
I've achieved nothing of note this morning aside from eating a donut and buying a terracotta pumpkin....I fear this afternoon is going to be just as productive."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Afternoon Everyone
Two bits of news.....
DS1 is now safely settled in at Hull Uni and seems to be doing ok so far. I managed not to cry, but did get in as many hugs as possible before we left him.
I was feeling sad about him not being here this morning, but my sister has distracted me in the best way possible.........by giving birth to my niece Emily at 7.20amShe is little miss fat cheeks according to the pictures I've seen so far...6 lbs 11oz and doing well. We are off to visit them soon, so I've spent the morning running around buying pink stuff. I wasn't able to get an "Awesome Big Brother" t-shirt for my nephew so will have to try online and get it posted to him.
Bye for now from a very happy Auntie Diane0 -
:bdaycake::bdaycake: Happy Birthday Kidcat. I went to get the birthday cake the browser problem is back.
Welcome Catrina. Some of us are not so OS as others but you certainly will pick up thing from here. Mrs LW always has some lovely recipes which I have to just imagine because my oven is never the same temperature twice in a row and the difference between the back and the front is over 100c so thing burn one end and don't cook the other. OK for stuff that will cook eventually and that you can turn around but no good for cakes biscuits and pastry.
The landlord will not fix anything if he can get away with it.0
