good morning...... Its looking like another nice day. SQ I have in laws who are like your relations. my father in law doesn't speak to me at all but my mother in law just judges everything as wrong.

I watched the tennis yesterday, wow what a final. To win 3-0 was not something that was predicted, if I bet (I don't) that would have been a good return.

Yesterday I got a despicable me character from mcd, it is so cute. I know im sad!!! It just makes me smile when I look at it.

Well must get ready, I am taking my mum to the bus station as she is going on a sun holiday to Skegness with her friend.

    Morning all.

Been busy catching up. Its been lovely & (Kind of scary) reading about the labours you’ve had. Hoping that its not much longer before my niece arrives! :j

Been busy over the weekend, OH & I planned on having a lazy day and getting everything in our home & garden sorted, However Friday afternoon OH’s little sister & grandfather was offered to attend a paignton trip and we was invited along. :j

Rather short notice - but it turned out to be a lovely relaxing day. Very hot, Extremely busy though. I’m very light skinned & burnt terribly even though I put on factor 50.
Sunday we went for a meal with OH’s parents, grandfather & Little sis. Again last minute. So, Alas, Nothing was done other than 6 loads of washing.

We’ve decided to get all the winter stuff washed and vac packed to be put away. And wash all the summer stuff so its fresh & ready for use.

Got my last wash load on now, One lot already on the line. But I admit I’m struggling today with my M/H & this very sore sunburn!!

Hope everyone has a nice day, Don’t forget to drink plenty!

    Be happy & healthy

    Afternoon everyone

Just been catching up on the thread but its taken a while.

mrs chip that view is beautiful, I'm very jealous. What a joy to wake up to.

How wonderful is this weather, well if you like the hot weather I guess. I brought the little one a paddling pool on Saturday. Yesterday afternoon I filled it and he spent the grand total of 5 minutes in it before cuddling up to me on the shady bit of lawn and falling asleep for nearly 2 hours. Oh we'll it was nice to have a little doze outside.

I'm finishing work for the summer this Thursday and I can't wait. I really wanted to be a SAHM until charlie went to school but finances don't allow it. Anyway for the next 7 weeks work doesn't exist and I'm doing a mini SAHM thing. I have decided we are going to have a 70's summer (harking back to my youth). We are going to have a picnic in the garden and invite nanny up to treat her for the afternoon. She looks after Charlie one day a week saving me £40 a week:eek: so I want to do some things to pay her back for her support.

Anyway I must get off here, I should be doing reports:mad:.

    Enjoy the weather everyone.

    Welcome Amber :)

Monnagran asked at my library for a copy of The Diary of a Provincial Lady as I read the blurb and think I might like it :D

We're collecting tokens for Sun holidays in the hope of a break at October week

I have been a very bad person not keeping up with my homework and have just finished. I will hand it in at my course tonight. Really enjoying it and never knew that UN had a convention for the rights of the child.

Pooky how is fluffy kitten today?

Statement came in for interest on our savings account... 3p! It'll gather more in dust under the mattress I'm sure!

grilled chicken, salad, boiled potatoes and garlic bread for tea. lunch consists of nuts and raisins as I type to you. Got housey things to do now. Soooo far behind!

elona at least you will enjoy your time in Durham even if the journey is annoying. I hope that your time in the passport office is indeed fast track and you can enjoy the sun in my home City :)

    Afternoon All,
Indoors and keeping out of the heat, still too warm for me but then again it means saving on the CH and it stays warm at night so it has advantages...

I decided that I need a hat. For both protecting my head in strong sunlight(and having a lack of hair)but also style. So whilst in Durham I found a shop that sold what I want for not too much money. I had to decide whether to have something slightly tight or too big(that's my head to blame, I seem between two sizes)

So I have a kind of straw trilby and another the nearest I can describe being like a beanie hat, I eventually chose a beige colour. The nice thing is the straw hat allows some air to blow through it if there is any breeze and keep my head cooler.

Thinking salad later(another one)may make some homemade fish cakes and add herbs, mashed potato and lemon juice. Boil plenty of eggs and potatoes so they are there for other meals and save time.

Do some housework and put rubbish in the wheelie bins(exciting life isn't it)but simple suits me...

Trip to York may be off(cost of train journey)and I am informed all six trains will be here in February(3 miles away)but if weather stays fine, I may be in the seaside resort of Saltburn instead.

thanks for the ideas VJs mum, glad you had a good holiday when you were in nearby parts.

Having one of those days when I am getting nowhere fast and I refuse to rush round in the heat. Both boys and DH were grumpy and off with me this morning and all were duly ticked off. DS9 apologised, DS6 didn't but calmed down and both were fine going in to school. DH also texted.

Did a little essential food shopping at my least fav supermarket beginning with T ;) and picked up a couple of holiday clothes bits eg DS9 needed wellies and swim trunks. Got back just in time for a very quick tidy up and early lunch before picking up my friend's little one from nursery as she was caught up in a hospital appt. Then friend stayed for a late lunch en route to collecting her son so now its nearly school run again for DS6. Then half an hour indoors and 4th school run as DS9 has a school club. That's how my days ebb away I guess, not that I'm complaining, would just be nice to get more done around the hosue.

better look lively as doing an errand on way to school.

keep cool everyone... I am still drinking tea, nothing stops my cuppa :D

Loved the photo's by Mrs Chip yesterday and the thought of such lovely views from Monnagran's window...

A flying visit to Durham for Elona and daughter, I hope you saw the Cathedral with more time you might have seen the Lindisfarne Gospols.

The Castle and Cathedral I haven't seen for decades must do something about that. They dominate the skyline.

If anyone needs the online code for a Sun holiday I presume I have one as I have a mailing I haven't opened, and won't be using.
Phew it's hot here. We woke up to a burning smell and it seems one of the light switches (the middle of a 3-gang dimmer switch) has burnt out. The British Gas man is picking up a new one at the wholesalers and is on his way, when I shall ply him with iced water. I was going to cancel that contract but this year it has been well worth it. Sod's law, eh.

Fluffy kitten seems a bit brighter today thanks Fuddle. She's eaten her own body weight in ham, not ideal but any food is better than none....the fact that it has a high water content helps with her fluids too. She's made it upstairs onto my bed today, the first time in nearly 2 months!

Another glorious day here but very windy which is keeping the temperature much more bearable. Had a walk to the cafe on the cliff this morning for a cup of tea and some fresh air, came back via the park where they've just installed some outdoor gym equipment. DD1 and I tried it all out, it's great. We shall make good use of it.

I've been hunting through my fabric stash for a bit of something for some patchwork I'm doing and came across 3 bits I'd forgotten about. Ive made a simple sun top out of one bit, will do the same with one of the others (when I've got some more sheering elastic) and I've enough pale green jersey to make myself a couple of pairs of pj bottoms. Fabric was gifted by a friend of my mothers, so aside from a roll of elastic, 2 tops, 2 pairs of bottoms and all free!
